Aang@: Awesome drabble! One thing I love about their relationship and the possible conflicts that may come, it's so lifelike that it's like you can actually feel the hurt, the pain, the joy, and most especially, the love. Fret not Aang, it may be stinging us a bit when we see the conflicts, but it will just like Iroh told Aang, you can't always see the light at the end of the tunnel, but if you keep going, you will come to a better place. *karma* Yeah I love that too, Kataang is so lifelike, you can just feel the their emotions, like in bato of the water tribe, you felt Aang's pain.

Yeah, cometimes I have to remind myself that the avatar characters aren't real people . Like you guys have been saying, it's very real, the characters are so life like, especially that in COD, when Katara was watching Aang fall. I completely felt her pain.

Thanks Khil! I completely felt her pain too Kataangirl22, and I still feel it everytime I watch that scene in CoD. Kataangers, I found something VERY interesting! You know Avatar Kuruk? The Waterbending Avatar before Kyoshi? Well guess what? He had a girlfriend~ Here's the comic What I'm wondering is, did Kuruk already master the Avatar State before meeting her? I also found it interesting that he fell in love with a Southern Tribe girl.

She was more than a girlfriend, she was his wife. Or at least he called her "wife." Kind of goes against the argument that Avatars can't marry or fall in love or be in relationships. No one in the water tribes seemed to be objecting to the marriage and you didn't see any of the other nations there trying to stop the wedding. So I do think the world (at least during Kuruk's time) was okay with the Avatar being in a relationship.

What's interesting is that Kuruk's wife was taken by the Spirit World. Perhaps that Koh theory that's flying around somewhere holds some truth? I don't see why Koh would object -- since I doubt there was a huge crisis like Aang and the Gaang have to deal with now during his time. I definately think that Aang can love, just not now. He has his priorities, and his duty. To be in a relationship would not only risk his life, but Katara's as well. Then again, the enemy could always fish out those who are closest to him and use it against him also. Maybe, just maybe, Katara and Aang would have to hold off being together until they can sort out everything they have to. Like, save the world and bring back balance. That could just be my biased shipper self speaking again though! KrystalFruit22: Seems like foreshadowing to me. Though, he reminds me a lot of Sokka! The bethrothal necklace scene looked like foreshadowing to me too, but that's the biased shipper inside of me talking again. xD

Don't say that firefists! xD I'm sure Kataang could work out in the end. The only thing in their way is the Avatar State fiasco and whatever "letting go" means in the Avatarverse. Duty is an obstacle, but it's mostly tied up with the AS situation than most.

Time to bring in a surge of wondrous optimism:
They dont have to physically be together to* be together* at this point in time, yes there is a war going on and lives need to be saved, Fire Nation needs to be put in check. Let us not forget, these two have pledge one another's lives to the other, whether you want to look at it in romantic, platonic, etc.
Season 3 is coming down the pike soon Kataangs, we have a lot to look forward too, some bad, some good, some in between. But the most important thing is , love is going to play a even bigger role in this relatonship, and we will see just how much testing that love has to endure!

Don't say that you'll jinx us,jk .But yeah now that I saw that vid I think all of my doubts about the avatar not being able to be in a relationship are gone. And yea I don't really think now is the time to be in a relationship with all thats going on,but I do see it happening after the war ;D

^^I don't think that "letting go" really means what everyone thinks. I think that it means while in the avatar state, Aang has to let go of all the things he knows and loves, and put the world first. I don't think that he actually has to "let go" of Katara completely....just while he's in the avatar state! Besides.....that Guru was a nut job.......

In Hinduism, the 7th chakra deals with " earthly attachments", and to unblock it you have to release it. My friend who practices Hinduism said this when I showed him the clip of Aang having to unblock his Thought chakra: "It's not literally letting go of her, all he has to do is let go of the attachment he has on her. He has priorities to place first, and by placing her in front of what he has to do, then it blocks his reasoning. He has to know when to let her go, and when to keep her close. Doesn't say he has to stop loving her, he can still be with her, just not allow her to cloud his judgement". I don't think he has to keep "letting go" of her whenever he reaches into the AS, it feels like a one time deal to me. Either he does or he doesn't. power: Right, they don't have to be physically together to be "in a relationship". And it seems like to me that they already have a spiritual bond, more than anything I've ever seen going on for them. Whether their relationship forms into a romantic one, or stays platonic. You can't take what they already have established between the two. I just hope season 3 comes soon, because I think my AWS is getting worse.

I agree but I don't think I've ever really thought that "letting go" actually meant what other people thought it did.Besides alot of things in this show has a deeper meaning then what it looks like.

I don't see Katara really as an earthly attachment and his feelings as earthly. She is almost spiritually attached to him. His attachment to her goes far beyond a physical form. It is a spiritual and mental bond.
