^ that was hilarious ... xD but ...true
I do not understand that these scenes can be viewed many ways convenient for shippers Zutara in forums tv.com, when Katara expressions that say it all and are so clearly Kataang ;D
We must wait to see the next reaction Katara. At the moment it depends on the Kataang

The problem I've found is that people have such an issue admitting anything could be Kataang. I mean if Zutara is going to happen, it is going to happen. There is no reason for the fandom to downplay or degrade Kataang scenes and I've found that to be very annoying lately.
I felt that I really couldn't enjoy Aang's kiss with Katara because there were all these naysayers who ruined every discussion about it on every forum, even my own journals. And other shippers fuss at how they can't enjoy their ships, well constantly seeing "Katara didn't like it" blah blah blah sort of ruined the enjoyment for me.
And I'm sorry if I am venting, but I needed to for a moment.
But that being said - HELLO! I missed all of you!

I remember watching the episode for the first time, saw them kiss, nearly had a heart attack and not long after got really depressed because I knew some of the fandom's reaction would be horrible and would totally ruin the experience >< Welcome back ♥

I agree Amira. And it really bothers me that other shippers will take ANYTHING to support their ship, no matter how small or non-existent the thing was. But any obvious Kataang moment, mutual or not, is bashed and ripped apart and they will find EVERYTHING wrong with it to prove that it isn't really Kataang. How are they able to believe in a ship that has no evidence, and take every teeniest moment that might be able to support their ship and believe it, but they can't believe what is actually happening in the show? It doesn't make sense to me. Shizuma: Exactly. What you said is EXACTLY what Katara was feeling. Also "How long has he felt this way? How long have I felt this way?" might fit in there too. xD

It doesn't make sense to me. It's called hypocrisies/double standards. Examples: Aang giving Katara her necklace back and her kissing him on the cheek afterwards is not evidence to support Kataang. But because Zuko found Katara's necklace, Zuko and Katara will get together! Kataang won't happen because Aang is too immature for Katara. But Zutara will definitely happen, even though Zuko himself has been known to act younger than his age.

Shipping is like reliegion, you can't use logic to really prove someone wrong, because if they want to believe it, then they're going to believe it, end of story. It did rather bother me that the fandom took that kiss the way they did, but I was still squeeing with happiness for like a week xD, it just made me so happy.

Yah Katara is clealy asking for it (a big fat kiss in return) when she's kissing Aang. Wheither she loves him or not, is yet to be discovered, all I know is she really cares about him, and that could either be mistaken as just a loyal friendship or love. So Katara keep on kissing Aang and see what happens! He he he. Yah take one for the team Aang!

I know the feeling Amira, but now I enjoy it to its maximum despite all that is said about it, due to the very fact that it WILL NEVER negate what Kataang is unfolding into: something beautiful and epic. Ive traveled fandom and it just doesnt matter anymore what is said about Kataang to me xD

You guys should read this Kataang essay by swan-swan on DA. It's brilliant. BRILL. <333333 I read that essay btw, and it was wonderful. Beautiful. Excellent. BRILLIANT. Whenever someone wants to debate about Aang/Katara, whether it be about how much of a Mom she is to him so their relationship is incest (which makes no sense since she isn't Aang's mother), or that he's too young for her, someone should link them to THAT. Truest facts that's been ever said ever.

I agree. It was quite a lovely essay. It showed how epic Kataang is and something that has been bugging me for a while (that is, "mother-son" thing is actually pretty sexist). Like the essay said, if Aang was older or taller would people be saying he is like a son to Katara? If, say, Sokka was the one comforting Aang would the relationship be described as "fatherly"? No. Indeed. The fandom may be a buzzkill but, at the end of the day, we still have a wonderful romantic story. A story about the Avatar and his Protectoress who fell in love while saving the world. <3

yep, that essay was AMAZING. Basically shot down every Zutara argument against Kataang (not bashing the other ship or anything). Lotsa images too, great support for the arguments. I don't think that just because you are a loyal friend, you are going to keep kissing back. But if Katara's gotta kiss Aang to make that point, I got no problem with that
