Here's an idea! Aunt Wu said that Katara was going to marry a powerful bender. What if it has nothing to do with strength, or physical power. There's talk around that Zuko is going to overthrow his dad with Aang and stuff... and then he is the heir to the thrown, and he'll become a powerful ruler. And there was talk about the crown that momo brought to Katara in the Blue Spirit ep, how that was foreshadowing. I looked at the crown again, and it had dragons on it (fire). And there was more talk about foreshadowing in The Waterbending Scroll, how Zuko held up the engagement necklace up to Katara's neck. Also in Bato of the Water Tribe, when Jun kept teasing Zuko about Katara being his girlfriend. and Zuko holding her back so she wouldnt fall off of Jun's creature (below). distanthorizons.proboards31.com/index.cgi?board=avrelations&action=display&thread=1136607468&page=1And the famous quote. "You rise with the moon, I rise with the sun." They compliment eachother. Water is across from Fire. Katara and Zuko compliment eachother. Air is across from Earth. Aang and Meng compliment eachother. Also the Moon represents Yin, the Sun represents Yang. Fire is both hot and dry. Earth is both cold and dry. Air is both hot and wet. Water is both cold and wet. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Classical_element

*sniff* You're breaking my heart. Even though I am an avid Kataang shipper, I know enough to bow gracefully and say, "Good theory!" Seriously, nice evidence. ;D But you broke my heart

Ahh, as much as I don't like to admit it...yeah. That's great evidence, even more than Kataang, which I support... Maybe I'll be a Zutara fan as the series progresses

Noooo! Myris! Don't go to the Dark Side!
*sees rabid Zutarians* Oh, crap...
But yeah, even though there is more evidence for Zutara at the moment, I still like Kataang, and I won't bash Zutara, even if it comes to fruit...
You have my respect, Ardor.

Um, why does this warrant a thread of its own? Couldn't it have gone in the main Zutara thread?

I think this show is full of foreshadowing.
Reportedly, during the 2006 Golden Globe Awards, Adam Johnson interviewed Anthony Lioi, one of the directors of Avatar: The Last Airbender. Lioi told Johnson that Nickelodeon will release a teaser for Book 2: Earth by the end of January. He offered details on the season premiere, called “The Avatar State,” which will flashback to past episodes. The second episode will see the debut of Zuko’s sister, Zula, with a war balloon in her arsenal. He also mentioned that a Zuko/Katara relationship “might just blossom over the new season.” He stated that the second season will be darker and add more depth, adding that audiences should “expect the unexpected.”

Oh wow, Ardor! Great usage of our Zutara foreshadow list! ;D And yes, expect the unexpected. Good job on the research.

Ardor that crown has been referred to as an antique from an old Earth Kingdom castle. Interestingly enough Sokka even refers to Katara as "Your Highness" and asks, "Who is this Aang you speak of?" In any case, there is no denying though that those instances could be evidence of possible foreshadowing. The elemental balance I think is by far the most compelling argument since the show revolves around the need to preserve the balance and what occurs if that balance is thrown off. I think Aang's match in earth may be provided by Jojo the earthbending bandit mentioned in the trading card game.

Aww, poor Meng..
Anyone think it was funny that she's predicted to marry a big-eared guy? Especially considering that Katara made fun of Sokka for being a "large-eared cretin" in Episode 6? Not hinting at a Sokka/Meng pairing here, but it's funny nonetheless.. ;D
