But he's still emotionally and physically 12, so it doesn't really matter. If you get caught up on the 112 thing, then you'll never be able to enjoy any Aang ships at all.

My brain had a sudden reel back of Aang and Toph connections with other obvious romances on Avatar. Immediately, I was reminded of Yue and Sokka's relationship. I remember Yue and Sokka walking across the bridge together, and I remember Aang and Toph doing the same. Pictures: firebender.com/e6/images/390.jpgToph and Aang firebender.com/w19/images/32.jpgYue and Sokka Also, may I remind of the quote "Meet me on the bridge tonight". I was wondering if the bridge had some signifigance, and so I went googling. I came across this site and the many symbolically suggested ways for 'walking'. (( www.vcu.edu/engweb/transcendentalism/authors/thoreau/walking/ )) Quote: "bridges....(something something) a faint symbol of the awful ferity with which good men and lovers meet." Tophang is it?

Weeell, in classic literature, crossing bridges are usually symbols for big changes. For example, in Crime and Punishment, Raskolnikov crosses a bridge before he confesses to the murder he commit, like, 5 billion pages ago. X.x ...I need summer vacation. School has eaten my brain. But yes, the bridge crossing could well be a sign of things to come. I really, really hope, anyway. And if it's nothing deep, at least Toph looked very cute in that scene.

Oh, good point! She and Aang crossed the bridge, and then he said, "You could come with us," and she pointed out that she couldn't leave her parents. But the seed of an idea had been planted... otherwise, when her dad put even more stringent restrictions on her, who knows how she might have retaliated? Once she crossed the bridge, though, she was allowing new possibilities and relationships (of whatever kind) into her life. It's supposed to be a dream symbol, too.

Toph's a golddigger then. =/ LOL when you said gold digger the first person who came to my mind was Jun actually (She sure loved gold)My brain had a sudden reel back of Aang and Toph connections with other obvious romances on Avatar. Immediately, I was reminded of Yue and Sokka's relationship. I remember Yue and Sokka walking across the bridge together, and I remember Aang and Toph doing the same. Quote: "bridges....(something something) a faint symbol of the awful ferity with which good men and lovers meet." Tophang is it? I never noticed that till now! You're right, those scenes were very similar and I never stopped to look at the symbolic meaning of bridges. Aang is a good man and Toph can very well be his *future* lover! You definitely deserve Karma

I see an accidental love coming on, you no the same kind of faces like Meng and Aang. They might just end up on each other, lol and wont no what to do. Aang has to go through something called maturity, he'll soon find out that love's not a crush, it's love. But not with Katara. I think Toph is going to be a major impact on Aang, soon.

Aang has already matured a great deal. I only see him maturing more. I would, however, still like him to stay himself and not change too much.

Toph/Aang are so cute together. They have that rare chemistry that just clicks. Besides, the way the scenes were set out made it seem like Aang was trying to flirt with Toph at the dinner table. Haha...

^lol yes it did look like that a little. Especially when he cooled her food for her. I don't think he was, though. He was just being his normal freindly self. (And a bit of a show-off to boot. lol remember the clapping?)
I agree with the second thing Story said, I want Aang to remain himself as well in some aspects. I think he can pull off becoming mature in his handling of situations while still remaining the goofball he is. I don't think it would be good for him to lose that trait, it is what makes him approachable.

I don't think it would be good for him to lose that trait, it is what makes him approachable. You know this may be one of the reasons why I support Toph/Aang. Aang already has too many people in this world who want him to be more mature than he really is. I mean he's a kid for crying out loud, give him a break. But with Toph, she can help him remember what it means to be a kid. She can help him remember the simpler times. I mean just look at that episode "The Blind Bandit", Aang wasn't acting like the Avatar who has to save the world but just another kid who probably thinks "Girls are crazy!". ;D

Aang didn't have a pleasant childhood thanks to the fact that he was told he was the Avatar too soon. Now it seems like the world wants him to face his destiny and be the hope for the world...but the fact remains; he's just a kid and he as to grow up like a normal young boy.
Toph is a character whose very down to Earth and looks at Aang as the kid who he is, not the Avatar and that's something his old friends from the Southern Air temple couldn't do.
She balances being a 12 year old kid and being one with her element perfectly. I'm glad she's here to stay with the gang because when times go bad, he'll have Katara's great words of wisdom, Sokka's light humor, and Toph's tough resolve!

Alleluia: You know who that reminded me of? Dumbledor! He's like Aang if Aang were REALLY 112 years old! ...hehe. Er, anyway... Yeah, I agree with everything that's been said. Aang needs someone like Toph to help balance him, just as she needs someone like Aang for balance.
