^I always knew that her necklace represented the Water Tribe. It was a betrothal necklace from her grandmother and it was from a powerful waterbender.I think Aang and Zuko now realize how valuable the necklace is to her but I think Aang notices she needs it more.

^Umm yeah... I think the history of her necklace was expalined pretty clearly during season 1 - I wasn't questioning where it came from, who made, etc.. -- I was really pointing out that the symbol could represent a concept -- which I'm a bit too fuzzy right now to explain (mother's day was kind of rough this year and the stress has definately caught up with me)..
It doesn't really matter through since Alle pointed out the use of the symbol on the trading card -- that pretty much ruins the thought I was working with.. that stupid trading card game is pretty much pissing me off-- it's done nothing for me yet except annoy me..

^I never really checked out the trading cards yet.The only thing I really like about them is their style of art(it actually looks like authentic Japanese anime) and the fact that it can give us clues to future episodes. Yeah, the commerical with the two boys really creeped me out...

Two boys? Commercial? You mean the two boys from The Blind Bandit? Or was there a new commercial that I missed?
Anyway, I really don't know what's going to happen with this pairing. It does seem sometimes (like when Aang first comes out of the iceberg and sees her) that Aang and Katara are destined to be together, but I don't know. There have been SO many mixed signals with Avatar!!!!

The symbol on Katar's necklace is simply the symbol for waterbending (as opposed to the crescent and water symbol of the Water Tribe). Here is her necklace: www.firebender.com/w6/images/117.jpgNow, here is one of the waterbending cards from the TCG. It says in the manual that the symbol in the top left corner is the symbol for waterbending. www.musogato.com/avatar/tcg/baseset/strike_flash-flood.jpgIt is the same as the symbol on Katara's necklace. (Makes sense to me since Pakku made it and he *is* a waterbender.) It isn't a mix of water and air, but a depiction of a wave breaking(hence the confusing-to-some swirls). Stage 1: Denial I am not convinced, that card looks fake. I don't see any good proof that permits you two claim a faulty inference

Hey, Zuko was the one that held it up to her neck! ...haha, I'm kidding! Honestly, lol! Kataang's Supreme: the card's real. Sorry, but it is. Yeah, they have trading cards out now and stuff, they just aren't in many stores I guess. I mean, I never see them in any stores I go to either. ...which makes me sad.

I know that a card game is out, I have 110 cards and 10 chamber cards. I have a Fire Lord chamber card and won 10 duels already.

Grandfiresage, I think you need to look at your cards again. Every card that has a water symbol on it at all, has the waterbending symbol- the wave. Not the water nation symbol- the moon and water symbol. In fact, none of the cards have the national symbols on them, just the bending symbols if any elemental symbol at all. And I am pretty sure there is no such thing as a Fire Lord Ozai chamber card, but I could be wrong on that. I have just never heard of it and don't find it on any of the card databases.
The card isn't forged. I have that card, so I know it exists. That symbol is also mentioned in the game manual, as I said before. And I provided the link to the page the card was on, too. It is right under the card picture, if you missed it. The link is directly to the card's page on the DH card game site.
I hesitate to call people liars, but just to let you know, if you are purposefully misleading instead of just being mistaken, I don't take kindly to it. Especially when you are doing it to a friend of mine, like Storybookgirl, who is being nothing but nice to you.

The symbols represent the Spirit of the Ocean and the Spirit of the moon...nothing more. Pakku prob. got the inspiration to make her a necklace from the image of the Ocean Spirit's crescent since he was a powerful Waterbender. there is one more thing when aang gaved his necklace back to katar aon episode 15 the bato of the water tribe he uncoionsluy get bethroted (sp?) with katara? right? Aang just wanted to give her something that reminded Katara of home besides he just tossed it to her...Zuko almost strapped it to her neck

Zuko held it in front of her and could put it on her if he wanted to (which we all know he did..xD) Aang did nothing of the sort. He didnt even attept to get close to her with it.
