It has nothing to do with what clothes they are wearing now but everything to do with which the colors represent. Red represents fire and the Fire Nation whilst blue represents water and the Water Tribe. 'zactly avatar was meant for 9-11 year olds... you have to take the demographic that is assumed to be watching A:TLA into consideration when doing this kind of stuff.. it has to be understandable for them.

But the red was the girl see, while the blue was the boy. It was reversed. Now unless Azula ceases to be a sadistic psycho which I doubt, I don't think it was foreshadowing for any ship with her.

If she discovers that he is the banished prince and relative of the very people that killed her family and scarred her.. we start getting into foreshadowing from the legend of the two lovers.. I don't think that foreshadows on the legend of the two lovers really. I think if anything, it showed how he is going to do anything to hide his identity for his own safety. Songs parents were killed within Zuko's lifetime. His father is directly responsible for those deaths and her scars. She may have shown Zuko her scars, but only because he has one too. Which goes back to her having someone to relate to that is the same age. I need to rewatch this episode to get the order of events straight to be honest. I was watching, but getting ready for a client that was coming over so I missed lil bits and pieces here and there.

I guess it's just symbolism... kids could understand: fire = red, water = blue.. maybe is just to represent who's the guy and who's the girl. Blue-girl, red-boy. sorry to double post, if I do... look at katara and zuko in season one it was reverse blue = the girl red= the boy I doubt gender has too much to do with it, but you may be right. some little kids do watch avatar..

Soo... if the girl is red, how does that forshadow Katara? If the guy is blue, how is that suppose to represent Zuko? Unless there is a paranormal event where they are both struck by lightning, they can't switch bending arts.

It's just the colors and like I said Azula doesn't seem like she's going to be in a ship with any Water Tribesman due to her complete psychoness.Zuko and Katara are the only people from those nations on opposite sides of the war have even the remotest chance of getting together.

I don't think which gender was wearing which color really matters as much as the general message. 2 lovers from different sides of the tracks find love despite differences [= Zutara]. that simple.

You know I always thought that Jun was from the Fire Nation I mean look at the way she looks. That women looks like no Earthbender I've ever seen.

Do you think the fireflies that were all over the sky during the Zuko/Song moments was symbolic.. it kind of seemed similar to the crystals in the ceiling of the cave..

true. I really don't like Song *starts to build a wall don't hurt me* I really support and what do u mean katara doesn't have scars SHE LOST HER MOM AND HER DAD IS IN THE WAR. thats alot of grief. Is tone of voice zuko was never fighting her. Plus they helped he can't be angery on that. I hope no offence is taken

True I didn't even notice those fireflies! Honestly though I really never notice much like the time Zuko save Katara life by not allowing her to fall of Jun's pet. good eye!

The last line sounds like a SAT question with the word only with it and from what I've been taught, thats the first thing you cross out. Anyway, if the gender didn't even matter, why draw them at all when you can just draw two blobs of red and blue and say. It'll still say the same thing right? true. I really don't like Song *starts to build a wall don't hurt me* I really support and what do u mean katara doesn't have scars SHE LOST HER MOM AND HER DAD IS IN THE WAR. thats alot of grief. I can't really read it. cami-I didn't notice that but it sounds really cool. I'll go look at screen caps. ;D

There were fireflies in the scene outside the bar in "Bato of the Water Tribe" when Zuko presented the necklace of Katara's to Jun. If fireflies are symbolic then that was just a reminder of Zutara and nothing else. It's good to see people theorizing about stuff like this. It was mainly a Zutarian preoccupation but now it is really catching on.
