^ I'm sure Aang can soften Toph up ^_^ So is Tokka really a ship standing in the way of taang. I think not. Tokka is too cool but really, Suki is probably alive and she will end up with Sokka. And if she's dead it'll be Ty Lee so really, kataang is the only thing stopping taang from becoming canon (kataang is too cool too though n_n

Yeah, Tokka has never been a threat to our domination. SUkka Suki is canon, then Sokka x Ty-Lee. Tokka has as much chance os Taang.

Top can teach Aang to be more head on into his approach to admit to Katara his feelings for her. And Aang can teach Toph to be more open to herself and Sokka ;D Yes Kataang is cool xD

The way Toph cried when Aang left at the end of " The Blind Bandit" seemed to me that she cared for Aang. Also, Toph siad " I'm really gonna miss you guys," and Katra and AANG responded, " I'm gonna miss you too," and they hugged!

Yeah and then they're all hugging with Sokka and he's saying, "OK...we love each other. Seriously." Toph hugging Katara and Aang again there. Then Aang gave Toph a smile (while supposedly being emo) during Secret of the Fire Nation when he gave her his staff so he could help Katara out with the splitting water. That smile makes me happy cuz I have no idea why he smiled at Toph there. Guess he just felt like it.

OOh, yeah, forgot about that. * sighs from Taang moment*
Bitter Work was an ok eppie for Taang, at the begining when Aang is asking Toph what they will start first. .

Yeah, first part was cute. He was all excited about learning from Toph (apparently the kid worshipped her skillz) and Toph seemed to have been having that "Calm the heck down" attitude when she said, "Let's start with move a rock."
Training, I found it hilarious as heck but shipping wise was somewhat of a killer. (I personally don't think Toph was being that rough on him with the criticism and all, until after the boulder incident and when she got his staff and man handled it)

I thought that was good, though, how at the end it was ll just a part in her plan to get Aang to earthbend.

Wow... new Mansion already? Taiyo, Kanasha, you girls sure have been busy. Nicely done. Just make sure you're not neglecting anything in real life. And Jade Lily, I've gotta say I prefer Bittersugar. It sounded cool and it was an oxymoron. Can't beat that. And Power... stop teasing the girls, You're supposed to be a mod. Hhhmmm.... as for this talk of viable taang scenes and the Kataang/Tokka conflicts... I have to say, nothing so far in the show could be marked as Taang in nature. I mean there were scenes that could have been taken as such; the swamp vision, most all of the Blind Bandit, some of Bitter Work. But these are more small landmarks for character interaction, not romantic build up. It seems more to me that neither Toph or Aang currently see the other as a viable romantic interest. Due to their own egos, even though they are the same age, they seem to see one another as children. There individual talents and extraordinary backgrounds, it is understandable that they view themselve as more worldly and mature than others their own age, not to mention that in early pubescence youths are often attracted to older adolescents and adults with more pronounced physical maturation. Toph, being an heiress, raised in refinement and kept from associating with kids her own age, is not likely to see a "child" as her equal, yet would still seek a playful persona to make up for the childhood she was deprived of. Sokka, being older, yet a dullard makes a prime candidate for her crush. Yet as we are aware, he fancies Suki, and if she is dead and the writers just flop his feelings over to Toph to wrap up the shows shipping in a cute lil package and completely ignore his grief, or having him just crying on Toph's shoulder and turning that into some convenient love affair, I might have tio break my television. As for Aang, being the Avatar, feeling the weight of the world on his shoulders, fighting for the sake of all humanity, it's no wonder he wouldn't consider himself a child. And Katara becomes a natural consort. An older, more mature and reliable beauty who caters to his needs and soothes his worries. Regardless of Oedipal shadings, his crush cannot be denied. But the concerns still abound whether it can really be called pure love, or affectionate dependence. With all the expectations and responsibilities encroaching upon his happiness, it is a human response to cling dearly to the person who he thinks will not abandon him, and will always make him feel better. She takes the form of a security blanket, which he can excape to when things are getting too real or too frightening. She really is a dependance which seems to hold him back from standing on his own and realizing his own strength, though any Kataanger may assassinate me for speaking thusly(Glance over shoulder to make sure Power doesn't have a gun) . But more worrisome is Katara's feelings in the matter. Does anyone really feel it believable that she would develope truly romantic feelings for Aang? Is she looking for a Lover in a twelve year old boy? It seems more understandable that she sees him as what he always has been, the Savior; the only one who can heal her world. Or that seems to be how she sees him. Yet, even if she does not have truly romantic feelings, if she is so devoted to his cause and his station as the Savior, I doubt there is anything she would not do to keep him happy and healthy, including accepting a romantic role beside him if he did confess his feelings. And that rather scares me. No matter how many Kataangs would squee over the relationship, or how Disney miraculous the writers may choose to display it as, from a realistic point of view it would be horribly detrimental to both of their developments. It just draws him further into dependence as his idol accepts him in, and keeps her from choosing a life of her own as she becomes the "Consort of the Avatar". Regardless, it is not really Kataang or Tokka which appear to me as the main hurdles for Taang. It is Toph and Aang themselves. The very similar ways and flaws which they have, keep them for seeing eachother as more than just part of the group, rather than potentially more. Perhaps developements in the third season could have them both growing out of their egos and their vices to actually mature, rather than just facing mature situations. Ad if so, they would make good assistants in helping one another mature outside of their childish crushes, or more to the point realize their own still childish attitudes and get over their older crushes through acceptance and understanding, rather than the more painful Zutara/Sukka paths, which would have them forced together by emotional depence, just as Kataang is already. Personally, I'd rather seem them accept their immaturities and learn to grow together. Though I doubt I'll get many allies in that front. Eh.. no matter.

I could dig it man. I just have a beef with the idea of Aang suddenly shifting romantic feelings to someone else. Hence my lack of support for this ship.
Yet, if there were a couple more seasons...?
Makes me wonder why you're against future seasons of Avatar, lunauc. Who knows, maybe the creators themselves will get bored of kataang?

Makes me wonder why you're against future seasons of Avatar, lunauc. Who knows, maybe the creators themselves will get bored of kataang? I'm against more seasons depending upon how they end this one. If they have the big sappy Kataang ending, with the magical "Power of Love" ending, and bastardize all notions of wisdom and enlightenment for a cheap romanticized happy ending, then kill it. It's done. I don't want to see anymore. However, if he has Aang truly gaining enlightenment or at least the first level of detatchment and helping the world save itself, and there is still more story to tell a the world needs to be put back together after the fall of the fire nation, then I might give it a chance. After that deeper character developement could take over, and if they do a four or more seasons, that's when shipping could really progress and take a worthwhile form. And really, I don't support the idea of Aang shifting his romantic feelings for Katara to Toph, just for convenience. As a matter of fact, that would annoy me even more than a fluffy Kataang ending, because then they would be screwing up my OTP. I just see that Aang and Toph have much the same problems of lacking their childhoods and healthy progress in growing up. It would be nice if they could, through mutual friendship, learn to let go of their crushes and accept that they are still children. Since they don't see eachother as romantic prospects they could make worthy companions. Any romance that may come about would be well into the future, grown out of trust without dependence. It may not have the drama and passion of a Kataang or Tokka story, but it would fit the characters, who are both meant to be strong willed individualists, not needing others to give them strength. At least thats what they could grow toward. You couldn't really judge that by the same passionate storyline Zutara would be. Since it is a more calm and natural approach. Rather than fires of war or rivers of tears to bond them, it would just take time and trust.
