"They aren't dead. Just sleeping, we have an hour. No less." Athryth whispered. "Be quiet though, they CAN wake up."

"You come with me, ok?" Zero didnt wiat for an answer. He took the young waterbenders hand and rushed down the alley. "dead end..." He turned around to face the cops. "We need to find a source of water or where dead!" "Let go - find - what?" Kayla wrenched her hand out of the boy's grasp, her eyes wide in alarm. "I don't know how to Bend!" Staring around her, Kayla saw a small puddle, smaller than the one she had moved before. It called out to her. She blinked, as she had before in the Swimming Competition. But this time, she didn't try to stop it. She strained to hear its voice... Reach out. Kayla blinked rapidly. Your hands. Guide me.She listened, reaching out tentatively with her hands toward the small pool. Pull. She did. The water lifted, then came toward her as she drew her hands near. In an almost dreamy vision, Kayla heard it say; The crack. On the wall.Kayla turned around and saw the crack. I can help you. If you know how to use me.Kayla drew the water toward the crack, and pressed her hand against it, filling it with water. Now what? She could hear the loud noise of boots against pavement, and broke out in cold sweat. Steady. Steady, master. Your breath.Kayla drew her face to the crack, toward the strangely shining water. Give me your breath, and I'll obey.Kayla blew. Her breath, usually warm and wet with moisture, were cold - she felt the breath brush against her hand on the wall and shivered. The water in the crack froze - and the crack widened. Now, release. What? Release. How? It's in your blood, oh the descendant of Water Tribes, young master. The only sole Waterbender from South Pole, Kana's granddaughter, is your ancestor.Kana? And her granddaughter, Katara. Now, release. What Kayla did next was pure instinct, with the small voice of the water guiding her, just pure feeling and the need to do it. She stepped back, closed her eyes, and concentrated. Now..."Release." She said as she opened her fist, sending the ice frozen within the crack exploding. The effect was, indeed, more than what would have been expected - the water itself's voice, combined with the raw power of a Waterbender, no matter how young in its training, multiplied the power of the explosion, and the wall crumbled, beginning with bigger cracks, then falling to the ground in a heap, revealing an exit. Kayla panted, suddenly worn out, perhaps from her previous effort. Trading a look with the boy, she broke into a full sprint, the voice of the water saying its farewell, ( Run, young master. The bloodline needs to be reborn, the Water Tribes re-grouped. There will come a time when the moon and the water spirits circle each other and tells their people of their secrets and reveal their powers to them.) and leaving the footsteps of the nearing men behind.

Chace stopped running as he rounded a corner and the police followed the cliche route of going straight. He held his breath, then let it out. After a few minutes of silence, he walked down the alley, and - lo and behold - he walked right back into the alley he had started in. Where the two girls stood. He grabbed his head, "I've got to be dreaming," he said to himself.

"Whoa." Kayla skidded on the ground, stopping in time in front of the boy from earlier. "How did I come back here?" saying so, Kayla looked around, and bit her lip as she realized the end wall she had just broke led back to the original alley. "Are... are the men still here?" she asked carefully, noting the boy was grabbing his hair by the roots.

Chace looked at her," I don't know? I've lost my sanity. I was running away and then, and then I found a way out, but ... but then I came down there and-and- and then I was back here."

;; "Well we'll need all the sanity we have, hold on to them." Kayla started, looking around, then paused, frowning slightly as she stared at the boy. "Are you a Bender?"

"That depends. Will you kill me if I say yes?" Chace asked her.

Kayla stared at him. "I'm not in the same league as that girl in green, and in case you haven't noticed, I'm a Bender myself." Kayla narrowed her eyes. "Anyway, you won't be running away from those men if you weren't a Bender. Do you, ur, do water too?"

Chace shook his head. "I'm a bender yea, but I work with fire."

"Yea." He looked away, "You see, there's four elements - fire, earth, water, and air. I happen to be fire and you water."

Athryth stared at the girl and laughed. "I suppose you can do anything, hide, or blend in. In my case, blend in."

Hearing of the young man speak that he was a fire bender, she slipped around. Searching for the voice, when she did, she spoke "Who is your ansestors?"
