Name:[/u] Arahai
Age:[/u] 15
Gender:[/u] Girl
Nation:[/u] earth
Bender?:[/u] earth
Appearance:[/u] She has long black hair, tied back into a ponytail with a strip of green cloth. She has almond shaped eyes that are a dark forest green color. Her clothes are simple; light brown pants and a typical Earth Kingdom style shirt (green). She wears a simple necklace, a string with a plain, brown stone attached. Her skin was fair, but, due to her outdoor life, has tanned to a light brown.
Personality:[/u] Arahai is usually quiet, but she is brave-hearted and knows how to survive. She prefers to be alone, with only nature to accompany her. This makes her very independent, and she is wary of strangers, and is careful not to say too much.
History:[/u] Arahai, nicknamed 'Ari', grew up on a small farm just outside of Omashu. She is just learning how to bend, despite her being older than most beginners. Her parents, wanting a proper young lady, not an earthbender tomboy, kept her from finding a teacher. As time passed, Ari grew tiresome of her parent's strict rules; she thought that her parents acted as though they were royalty, instead of just farmers. After a while, she ran away, taking her parent's ostrich-horse with her. Little did she know that these rules were to protect her, to help her move up in society, not tie her down with no hope of a decent future as she thought.
For a few weeks, she stayed within a few miles of Omashu, practicing her bending, and learning how to survive on her own. By the time the fire nation took over Omashu, she well away from there, close to the Northern Air Temple. For a while, she lived in the temple, though that was after the Avatar lived there. While she was there, she helped to repair the damage done by the Fire Nation, or at least, what was left of the damage. She still travels around, picking up different bending moves from other benders.
Ari's form of meditation is unique; she created this method shortly after she left the temple; she sits on a bare spot of dirt or stone, plunges her hands into the ground, and breaths with the earth. She finds it much more affective than the traditional way. Her method allows her to feel the pulse of the earth and to breath with it.
