Iroh is bound to find out about Zuko's defection long before they cross paths again. Zuko knows way too much...Ozai is going to want to shut him up...he'll have put a massive price on his boy's head...and even if he doesn't and tries to pretend that all is well in the Fire Nation and nobody of import has run off to join the Avatar, I'm sure the White Lotus knows everything.
So I foresee a Zuko/Iroh glomp...Zuko sprouting about how sorry he is while Iroh beams about how proud he is.

I know Iroh's gonna forgive Zuko sooner or later, because he's just awesome like that. But I have a feeling that he's going to somehow teach Zuko a lesson before redeeming him. Show him some tough love.
The question is, just how...

I SPOILER: (How do I do the spoiler thing?) -.- They're tags like any other...there's just not a button for them... Type spoiler inside [] at the start and /spoiler inside [] at the end...but you can only use them once in a post.

@zerg: No I've seen the episode and I know that they are in the past. But I would still consider them Iruko moments... I just liked to see their interactin at the beginning of Zuko's journey. Zuko was harsh but Iroh's reaction was very familiar and it was something I had really missed.

I'm sure Iruko is on the mend... Zuko fully intends to beg for Iroh's forgiveness...which I can't see Iroh withholding...especially given the company Zuko soon hopes to be keeping They just need to cross paths...

Gah! *bumpsbumps* Live board, live!! Darn you AWS, why must you make good boards die?! D: Anyway, with the board now brought up to the front page, I would like to bring something to my lovely Irko supporters attention. I just recently got my hands on Zuko's book from The Earth Kingdom Chronicles series. I'm sure you guys saw me answering some questions regarding the book in the General Avatar topic. But anyhow, I have to say that the book contains a good amount of fluff regarding Zuko and Iroh, especially during The Chase and The Guru, I thought it would be interesting if I posted them up for you guys! The Chase: My eyes opened slowly. I see a familiar face. "Uncle!" Why is he here? How did he find me? "Get up," he said before reaching down and helping me to my feet. Uncle came after me. Even though I walked out on him. He never gave up on me. I wanted to say more to him, but right now we had something more important to take care of. Uncle and I faced Azula. Beside us stood the Avatar and his friends. "Well, look at this," Azula said as we backed her against the wall of an abandoned building. "Enemies and traitors, all working together. I know when I'm beaten. A princess surrenders with honor." She bowed, but as she raised her head, she suddenly struck, sending a blue Firebending blast right at Uncle! Noooo! I unleashed a stream of fire right at Azula. The Avatar and his friends also threw bending attacks at her. When the smoke cleared, Azula was nowhere to be seen. I can't believe Azula attacked Uncle, but I shouldn't be surprised. Uncle is a strong man, though, and he was breathing---but he seemed to be in a lot of pain. I cradled his head in my hands to try and keep him comfortable. Oh, Uncle, how has it come to this? Azula has humiliated me again; and now you, who came to help me, are fighting for your life. Everything's gone bad. The Avatar and his friends are still here, but I don't care about capturing my prize anymore. I don't care about anything, not if I lose Uncle. |
The Guru:The sounds of birds chirping drifted though my open window, easing me gently from sleep. I woke up in my comfortable bed, in my own room, in our new apartment. Somehow the sun seemed brighter here. And all trace of my fever is gone. I feel fantastic. My mind feels sharp and clear. No conflict, no battle---just hungry! I joined Uncle in our new spacious kitchen. Something smelled wonderful! "What's that smell?" "It's jook. I'm sure you wouldn't like it." I leaned over the pot of bubbling cereal. "Actually, it smells delicious. I'd love a bowl, Uncle." "Now that your fever is gone, you seem different somehow," Uncle said, smiling and handing me the bowl. I feel different. I feel happy, at peace for the firs time in years. "It's a new day," I said. "We've got a new apartment, new furniture, and today's the grand opening of your new shop. Things are looking up, Uncle." It all seems so simple now, I can't even remember why I ever felt conflicted. We have a chance for a good life here, a new start. And I'm going to make the most of it.
We stood in front of Uncle's new tea shop, The Jasmine Dragon. It was big and beautiful, and packed with customers. I feel so proud of him. This is truly a special day. "Who would have thought when we came to this city as refuges that I'd end up owning my own tea shop?" Uncle said as he gazed out at the crowd. "Follow your passion, Zuko, and life will reward you." As usual, he was right. "Congratulations, Uncle." "I'm very thankful." "You deserve it. The Jasmine Dragon will be the best tea shop in the city." "No, I'm thankful because you decided to share this special day with me. It means more then you know." No one has ever been kinder to me or stuck with me no matter what. I gave Uncle a big hug. "Now let's make these people some tea!" It's day one of my new life, and I can't imagine anywhere else I'd rather be. |
Dorky Zuko FTW! I must say that The Guru made me laugh. I do enjoy how they did The Chase though, I even read that Zuko carried[/u] Iroh into that house from Bitter Work. Zuko must be really strong to do that. Well, either that...or Zuko being worried sick gave him extra strength. Either way, this book, and the fluff throughout it rules! <333 ;P Edit:[/i] storm-of-insanity put up a new fan fiction, it's called Brewed With Love Now, it does contains some minor WAT spoilers, but not too much. And there's is a lovely three worded...word at the end of it said by Iroh to Zuko. <3 I barley see that said in the fandom by them, it's very nice to see a fan fiction with them saying that they love each other. (*glances over the board* Lolz. GUYS. It's Irko. Not Iruko! XD)

endlessflame: Thank you for the excerpts! I seriously cannot wait to get my hands on this book! Maybe by the end we'll hear those three words......I'm praying for it.
And I was right again! Woot.........I almost feel smart now. He really felt the way he was acting at the beginning of CoD....it WASN'T for Iroh's benefit. Again, I'm so happy, happy that we get to hear some of Zuko's thoughts of Iroh........and even happier to know how much he cares for his uncle. I have a funny feeling there may be tears when I finally get his book.......tears of joy!!!
Thank you again for taking the time to show us those little excerpts!
