I'm not really a shipper, I just had 15 minutes to spare and wanted to write something about avatar ^__^

Clouds smeared themselves across the dusk horizon like pink daubs of paint on the darkening sky. The world smelled of fresh rain. The Fire Nation palace stood as an unmovable outcrop of power. Towering pillars of white marble led the way to giant metal doors. At the base of these pillars was a white marble staircase, and at the base of this pristine staircase two figures sat entwined, one laying his head in her lap.
“They said the end is always near.” The young man wore a saddening smile of regret.
“They need to mind their own business.” The young woman’s voice was shaky and weak. Her eyes were outlined with a shiny rim of tears. She put her hand on his chest, a deep burn wound, charred flesh mostly cauterized by intense heat, bored deep into the center of the boy. “I can’t heal it. It’s too deep, it’s too…” Her voice trailed off.
Looking up through his scarred eye, “I know.” His eyes were rimmed with tears. “They also say that a man should pass on without regrets. But I do have regrets.” He reached a shuddering hand up and brushed a strand of brown hair out of the woman’s eyes. “I wanted to live with you, I wanted to wake up to you every morning and for you to be the last thing I see before I fell asleep. I wanted to travel around the world with you, to gaze upon lands never seen, to always be there with you and for you. I wanted to watch out children run and play, to grow up and turn into adults and live their own lives. I wanted to grow old with you, I wanted our hair to turn gray together. I wanted for us both to pass on in our old age together and travel to the afterlife in each others arms. These are my regrets. These are the unlived moments that I will die with today.” He let his hand down and took a deep pained breath.
A bit of blood was seeping out of the back of the man, a creeping sea of dark red overflowed onto the woman’s tattered blue tunic. The wound had gone all the way through his body.
The woman‘s eyes overflowed with tears, they dripped down onto the face of they man, leaving wet trails down his face and hers “I love you.” She paused, I’m so sorry.” The woman said through heaves of sobbing. “I shouldn’t have been fighting you for so long, I shouldn’t have hated you like I did. If only we could have been together sooner. If only we could have been…” Her sentence ended with a weak gasp. She gazed at his face. “I should have done this a long time ago.”
The woman brought the mans head up with her hand and lowered her head. Her lips met his, but he did not stir and his lips were cold.
