I can definitely see Mai talking some sense into him...despite what that might mean to her relationship with his sister...
Perhaps it'll take both Mai and Jin to do so...one knows who he was...the other who he is...maybe with their combined help he can figure out who he will be...
It's amazing how we can turn just about anything into a discussion about Zuko...but then Jin's connection to Zuko is pretty much the only reason she was on the show...
Anyway...
Now back to Jin...

Jin really does seem like a one shot to me. But you know every fangirl on this planet squealed the entire time during Zuko's little date. Jin's perfect for Lee, not Zuko. Jin doesn't know who Zuko is because Zuko doesn't know who Zuko is. They'd make a cute couple yeah, but that relationship lasting, I have serious doubts. Maybe Zuko will get a girl in the end, but I don't think it'll be Jin.

I don't think that Jinko is a very real ship, and I am seriously not saying that because I am a Zutarian. We don't know about Jin's past, but we do know about Zuko's, and any relationship based off of lies is not destined to be. What would Jin think if she found out that Zuko was a firebender? She would probably be frightened of him and not want to see him. Just my opinion...

*le bump because I think this character's too awesome to be a one-shot*
I really wish we can see Jin again sometime in season three. It would be interesting to say the least to observe her reactions to the "boy in the tea shop" turning out to be the prince of the Fire Nation.
And for some reason, my imagination has been running wild with this character recently. Didn't anyone find her odd at some points, such as her lack of surprise at Zuko's firebending and her "sly" look before she kissed him?
Why am I thinking/wishing that she was a spy from the FN? Realistically speaking, it would be simple for such people to get into Ba Sing Se, with the daily flood of refugees.
Granted, this would make it all too easy for some people to dislike her more, but I really do think this character's interesting and deserves a return in one way or another.

Granted, I'm not a huge fan of Jin, but there was once a claim made by someone that Mike and Bryan themselves indicated we would be seeing more of Jin. It was on a fangirl's blog (I'll try and find the link), but if we do see more of her, I could imagine it being an interesting one-shot (er two-shot?) appearance... It could be an early episode. Zuko is out in Ba Sing Se (where they no little of the coup) and Mai is hiding, planning on speaking with him. As she begins to come out of the shadows, Jin runs to Zuko and hugs him. She could say that she was "scared" about everything that was happening or something. All that matters is that we see Mai glowering in the backround. Then at night we see Jin walking through the city alone. Suddenly a knife hits a wall mere inches from her. She runs down back alleys and lonely streets as random sharp objects continually whisk by her. Finally she thinks she has lost her pursuer and stops. Then, while Jin is recovering, Mai drops down and grabs Jin by the collar of her shirt. "Stay away from the boy" Then she tosses Jin roughly away and leaves. This could be like a sub plot of a more important story. It would be a fun thing to see at least. EDIT: really old journal entry that mentions Jin: rawles.livejournal.com/225093.html

One thing that I found odd about Jin was when she said "Your Uncle is a good teacher." What exactly did she mean by that? How does she know Iroh's been teaching Zuko?

I see Jin more as a development device (EDIT: Sry for that. The poster below is right, I didn't find quite the right word, I guess maybe character developing charcter does the trick too), rather then a real character. Zuko got to aknowledge that he is still a teenager, because of her and that's about it. She has done her job and probably won't come back with a major role. If she would have ANY character background I could think diffrently. I guess Mai and Katara are the only female characters around Zukos age, that are garateed to interact with him in season 3 (atleast with having the potential for romantic interaction).
I may turn out wrong nevertheless, you can never tell in AtlA.

Though I won't call her a "development device" either. It's sound so rude actually But she was cute and spunky, and I did like her (even if we only saw her for, like, 5 minutes) but I doubt she'll return. I'd like it if it would happen, but I sincerely doubt it. Besides I agree that Mai and Katara are probably the only ones with the potentially romantic interaction in season 3 with Zuko. But like you said, trustno1, in Avatar you can be surprised with the outcome

It IS possible that Zuko is yet to meet his OTL...though I seriously doubt they'll introduce a new character at this point...though it'd be kind of ironic if he fell for a nice Air Nomad girl...
I still think what I've always thought...he'll end the series alone...

Well, there's the Ty Lee is decended from Air Nomads theory. And since they're probably going to meet soon.... ;D

I don't think Jin can really disapear. Zuko's always going to remember her, you never forget your first kiss. I like this episode it was cute to see Mr. Evil Firebender get all awkward and nervous around a girl. She seems nice enough and really bold (Gah, I wish I was more like that. If I was in BSS I would just sit around the tea shop and stare at Zuko all day because I'm too wimpy to ask anyone out.) which was nice. If she makes him happy then I'm good. Zuko wasn't OOC, he's just a bit bipolar, like all normal teenagers who do dumb, spur of the moment things. People sometimes forget the guy's only sixteen.

Well, I'm sure Zuko will remember her always, but I still can't claim that Jin was his first kiss -- I know I'm usually harping against the proof that Mai couldn't have, but we don't know. Maybe. Anyway, Zuko did seem like he was OOC. Doesn't mean it was a necessarily a bad thing; sometimes other characters act that way too, it's just a new character with about 5 minutes of development was involved and that made us draw more attention to it. As for the Ty Lee theory, I've still yet to see what they base this on? Her eyes? Her eyes are brown. Not gray (although Aang's change on a regular basis). The fact she's really flexible? She's really chirpy and didn't want to get into stuff with Azula and chase people all over the world because she was happy where she was? Tch. I don't want to make this a Ty Lee discussion thread though, so I'll just stop with the fact Ty Lee doesn't *have* to be an airbender for her just to be semi-opposed to Azula.
