This sounds fun!
The orphan (especially if he’s royalty or the one to fulfil a prophesy)
Especcially if that orphan was raised by trees.
The Woe-is-me (“mummy just died and daddy wants me to be just like him but I just can’t because I’m afraid and what will I do and I think I’m gonna cry…”)
seriously, what kind of character is THAT? I'm so glad we don't have one of those in Avatar!
Royalty (We’re just tired of royalty, okay?)
Phht! Royalty............Why the heck will someone use Royalty?
The classic hero (brave, handsome, and has a tendency to save kitties from trees. Bonus if he’s good with swords and used to be a farm boy.)
But becuase he's so good to his people, he will do anything for them! Even become a man-slave for them!

- "You killed my father figre! I am motivated by revenge!" This isnt just cliche, but bad writing. Having revenge be the motivation subtracts from character depth.
-"Oh no, my hometown!" Little villages where heroes live seem to be very flammable.
-"She's hot! Im gonna go rescue her!"
-Empire=Evil Its worse when they try and have it be a plot twist. "Oh no, the empire i thought was good, is actually evil" Duh, empires are always evil.
-Advisors=Evil Again, terrible plot twist
-Mental link with a dragon. Something that specific shouldnt be a cliche.
-Why's the king evil? Cuz hes insane. In other words, the author was too lazy to give the villain any proper motivation.
-Anything that follows the exact plot as Star Wars. *coughpaolinicough*
-Elves, dwarves, orcs (an orc by any other name is just as cliche)
-ERAGON!
