Yeah, like in Winter Solstice part 2. If you let one guilty person escape, blame it on five other people.

You gotta wonder why the Fire Nation doesn't use their Yu Yan Archers more. The addition to that squad in Avatar Day may be a hint that the final battle may involve more of them (it'll be a massacre)

yes it does make you wonder... Maybe they are a secret weapon that they don't like to use very much. Or maybe the Fire Nation army/navy is just too embarrassed that it take them so long to complete a task (like capturing the Avatar) and it takes the YuuYan less than an hour. but either way it does make you wonder indeed.

Maybe it's because they are so elite, they don't want to wear them out or get them needlessly killed in frivolous missions tha someone else could've carried out. And the Fire Nation needs to keep them happy! Can you imagine if the YuYans turned on the Fire Nation? Yeah, that wouldn't be good for anyone unfortunate enough to be in the vecinity...

oh yeah maybe that's why if they overuse the YuYan Archers, they might turn on their masters! Now THAT will be a massacre...

If they do come back, I hope it's not with Azula leading them. The Gaang, Zuko and Iroh are having a hard enough time keeping Azula at bay. But it would be nice to see all of them in an episode about being captured by Ozai's Angels and Yu Yan Archers and trying to escape together.

Oooh, that'd be a tough situation for Aang and them. Arrows or Lightning? But I guess Toph would be an advantage against them, since she can literally sense people far off with Earthbending.

yeah but only through the earth. She'd sense people, but i don't think she can sense a silent arrow 500 yards away.

Agreed w/ the arrow, But she could probably sense that Archers weren't quite right with body positions. Remember, she can 'see' sort of. She would be able to tell if they were surrounded, which from what we've seen is the archer's preferred method.
Plus, it looks like in the new season, they have been traveling in a bit more rocky terrains. Rocky areas usually have little or no foliage, so if the Yu Yan did track them down, they'd have to probably keep to the ground and hide in various places around the canyons which the gang is currently traveling in.

The Yuu Yan are absolutely amazing. The writers would be nuts to ignore such beautiful character designs.

The Yu Yan archers is just another reason the Fire Nation are so powerful. Tank and huge battle ships. Man with archers like that I like see anyone try to take a fire nation fort with a couple battlion of Yu Yan archers on the wall.
