I really want to see Sakura fight an akatsuki member She has. She tangled with Sasori, the puppet master, like seventy chapters back or something. Obviously, since Sakura lived, she won. I feel like Naruto is really dragging. Kishimoto is just throwing Akatsuki member after Akatsuki member at Konoha, and the only casualty that I can think of right now has been Asuma, and we all know that he was a vital character. =/ And now Kabuto has integrated part of Orochimaru's soul into himself? And Sasuke's group is running around targeting Akatsuki members? This current block of manga chapters feels a lot like Star Wars: Episode 3, where Lucas just rushed the whole thing in an effort to tie everything up. It's a just a bunch of battle sequences and random plot twists. The show doesn't tackle any meaningful topics anymore, like free will vs. fate (Naruto v Neji), love vs. hatred (Naruto v Gaara), or the necessity of courage, the strength that protecting someone precious to you grants you, and our inability as the judged to pass judgment on others (Team 7 v Zabuza/Haku). It's just battle after battle after battle. I'm growing a bit weary of it.

Maybe Kishimoto is going somewhere, but hasn't gotten there yet.

There are still some lessons in part two, but they have been recently ignored due to Sasuke god-modding. The point of the manga is that you will only be truly strong when you have something precious to protect. In the recent chapters, becuase this is Sasuke arc's, there is no lesson. Sasuke has yet to learn the point of the manga, which will lead to his downfall eventually, but Sasuke is being so hyped up at the moment that it seems everything he does he will succeed without learning the point of the manga. Hopefully the manga will get better once the arc ends.

I think everyone hates this arc because everyone seems to hate Sasuke.

I don't think it's hating Sasuke, it's hating his attitude. He has to stop being arrogant about his pwer, and feeling superior to others. It's like Deidara said about him "A pathetic loser mistaking the gifts of his heredity for his own power" (though it seems kinda hypocritical of him to say because he was born with the mouths on his hands...I think) The sharingan is hyped up to the point of being unbeatable, and until Sasuke loses a fight, he's still going to act the same.

^ stinkypinky is right. I used to like Sasuke and his story was very compelling to me. It's just lately Sasuke seems to be all mighty and without any faults. It is getting time for him to realize that he is still human and can make mistakes. Arrogance gets on my nerves.

Yeah, he's a little arrogant.... Okay, very arrogant. But who would be good enough to do him in? Tobi seems to evade death so he might give him trouble.

The new chapter is out : HereWell, well they finally show us that Sasuke is a limited in what he can do. (this is by far one of my favorite recent chapters lol) Although I was impressed with his blade in the ground idea so I'll give him credit for it. I'm hoping this isn't the end for Deidara though. Save him Tobi!

I have a feeling Tobi is going to intervene in some way.
But finally a chapter that shows Sasuke isn't a god. I enjoyed it. It shows Sasuke not relying on the l33tness of the Sharingan, and actually using his head. Now if Sasuke wins lets hope no stupid words of "Uchiha's are the best, all fail before us" nonsense.

I wasn't referring to Sasuke's god complex. The manga in and of itself has just gone stale. Before Shippuuden, there was meaning and purpose in every arc. Heck, seemingly every fight meant something.
Naruto vs. Mizuki: - When you fight to protect something precious to you, you become truly strong.
Team 7 vs. Zabuza/Haku: - When you fight to protect something precious to you, you become truly strong. - Cowardice is a waste of time because it doesn't make your problems go away (Inari). - We as humans cannot declare where a person's soul will go; on a similar note, there are shades of gray between good and evil (Kakashi and Zabuza's final dialog).
Neji vs. Hinata: - Encouragement (Naruto) can lead to a change of heart on the part of another (Hinata). - Great strength lies in pushing oneself beyond the limits of what is considered ordinary.
Rock Lee vs. Gaara: - Those who work hard despite having no natural talent will be rewarded (this one takes a long time to show itself). - When you fight to protect something precious to you, you become truly strong (Gai intervening on Lee's behalf).
Naruto vs. Neji: - Pride goeth before the fall. - We as humans have free will, and must never use "destiny" as a crutch that allows us to harm or mistreat others. - Those who work hard despite having no natural talent will be rewarded. - People can change their "destiny".
Sandaime vs. Orochimaru: - Revenge and hatred do not allow access to true strength. - The body may always be crushed, but not so with the spirit.
Naruto vs. Gaara: - Revenge and hatred do not allow access to true strength. - When you fight to protect something precious to you, you become truly strong. - People can change their "destiny" (Naruto and Gaara are victims of the same circumstances, but Naruto is able to get out of his slump because he has people who are precious to him).
Sasuke vs. Itachi: - Revenge and hatred do not allow access to true strength.
The big ol' Sannin brawl: - When you fight to protect something precious to you, you become truly strong. - Cowardice is a waste of time because it doesn't make your problems go away (Tsunade's attempts to escape her memories). - Encouragement (Naruto) can lead to a change of heart on the part of another (Tsunade). - Conquering one's fears allows access to true strength (Tsunade's hemophobia). - A million others, really.
Chouji vs. Jidanbou: - When you fight to protect something precious to you, you become truly strong, specifically, the bond between friends can make you stronger (Chouji and Shikamaru).
Now pick any fight in Shippuuden and tell me what you can take away from it. To me, it's all plot. It's stale, which is ironic, considering Kishimoto has introduced a dozen new characters, and there are more big fights and plot twists. The manga doesn't stand for anything anymore, but people eat it up anyway, because it's Naruto.

I still think the timeskip still has some lessons, just as of late, nothing because it's Sasuke's arc
GaaravsDeidara: When you protect something precious you are truly strong. Gaara gave a hell of a fight against Deidara to protect Sunagakure. Unfortunately he lost but that was all for plot.
SasorivsKankurou To fight to bring back the thing you find precious. Once again he lost because of the plot and to look deeper into who exactly was Sasori.
30%ItachivsNaruto and Kakashi: Now this fightI think didn't really have a lesson, just to see the current skills of our new characters and still show how powerful Itachi was despite being only 305 of his chakra.
30%KisamevsTeam Gai: Same as above except Gai did open up 6 gates to help set his team free from their water prisons.
Sasori vs Sakura and Chiyo:This fight I think was basically to show how good a shinobi Sakura has become, to showcase her skills more.
Deidaravs Kakashi and Naruto: In Naruto case it was to protect something you find precious i.e Gaara, Naruto went off the wall because of what happened to Gaara and the similarities of their past. Alos another lesson is to not underestimate your opponents. Deidara completely ignored Naruto and focused on Kakashi and it was unitl Naruto sucker punched Dei that he realized what he was up against.
In the save Sasuke arc II there wasn't much of a lesson, because seriously anything revolving around Sasuke in the timeskip seems to not have a meaning. Naruto lost his temper too easily went tails number 4 against Oro, not even realizing he had later, and being completely exhausted once meeting Sasuke and then we find out Sasuke can supress the Kyubbi... If anything anything with Sasuke so far in the time skip says "Uchiha's are the best, everyone else sucks" not a very good lesson. Hopefully with the new fight Sasuke is up against he won't hype the Uchiha name or be arrogant.
Shikamaru vs Hidan: The Will of Fire, to protect the people you find precious. Narutovs Kakuzu: This fight I think was only to showcase Naruto's new jutsu, and not to underestimate your opponents. Kakuzu underestimated Naruto and got f-ed up for it.
