I personally don't like the voices of the dub. I think I just got to used in the sub, so all of the dub seem really high or weird....
And I think people in Japan are more use to violence. For example, most kids take some kind of matial art (watching your siggie, Chibbi). And ninjas were once apart of the Japanesse culture. It would be like for us to have a gun in a show or something, I think.

While I'm not a big fan of the dub, I definitely don't think it's wrong to watch Naruto that way. I HATE anime purists: "If you don't watch the original Japanese version, you're not a true fan!" "You watch anime on TV? what a noob!!!111" I once heard someone say, "If you really like Spike [from "Cowboy Bebop]," then please do him justice by watching the show in its original Japanese." Come on! People who get all obsessive and snobby make me homicidal. You know what? No matter how you look at it, it's still JUST a TV show, people! *Slips and tumbles off her soap box* So, yeah. While I watch a lot of anime in Japanese, and there are certain English dubs that make my ears cry--Evangelion, Gravitation, Sailor Moon S, for example-- there are also series in which I prefer the dub. Cowboy Bebop, Fushigi Yugi, and Strawberry Eggs come to mind. It's a matter of preference. And like zilatwarrior said, it's supposed to be a form of entertainment. Taking something like this so seriously takes all the enjoyment out of it.

Personally, I think some of the dubs beat the subs (FMA, for example).
Naruto just isn't on that list.

I misread the title because there is no question mark at the end. I thought it said "Watching Naruto in English is a crime."
*sigh of relief*
NO. It is not a crime. It's the exact same thing as watching the subs, you're not losing any of the quality with the translations, and nothing truly important is cut out. There are some dubs where this isn't true, but Naruto's dub is quite awesome. Anyone who says that "real fans watch the original" is acting like an elitist. We are all real fans, no matter what language we watch Naruto in.
Now, back to lurking. ♥

Yeah, use some grammar people!! XD Sometimes the dub makes weird edits.... There was this one scene where Sakura was sticking out her tongue. In the dub, it wasn't sticking out.

Nah, it was my skimming of the title that made me misread it. xD
That was the only edit that I found to be a bit strange. But it's still extremely minor, and nobody would notice the difference. The edits in Naruto's dub don't take away from anything at all significant. It doesn't quite matter if there were three kunai or four in one scene, or if Sakura's tongue was sticking out or not for a scene.

But it's so weird!! They have something against tongues!!
If the dub ever got to it (and when it's made), I wonder how they would edit the SasuSai yaoi episode. XD
They'd probably cut the whole thing out.

No way would they cut the whole thing out.
At the very worst they would imply it. I think they'd settle with blocking out more of the nudity. They didn't make any edits to Naruto's sexy jutsu, so I doubt they'd harshly edit that scene. =P

In the very first sexy jutsu, they gave him a bra. XD
Guy-on-guy wouldn't be allowed on CN, would it?

They didn't. I sweeeaaar on my life they didn't give him a bra. I was watching intently.
Not on CN. But that's what the DVDs are for. Totally uncut, complete with all violence, curses, and sexual connotations intact. =P

I thought I saw one. My friend was the one who pointed it out. Then again, it was an anime scene from the Uzumaki Chronicles game. They might have changed it.
Yay for uncut!!
