I know that the whole "Rate The Sig/Av v.2" didn't go over so well, probably because it took far too much work and knowledge to rate the above graphics. But the same problems are still accuring in the original threads.
No, I don't really mind that people are giving a lot of 10/10. That's fine with me, if they really like the sig then by all means, rate it as high as you want. But there are just 2 things that are still really bothering me. So here I propose to new, fairly simple rules.
1) Offer at least SOME sort of explanation as to why you gave the sig/av the rating you did. No, I don't mean write a paragraph, I mean like "10/10 because I like the text" is fine. But just typing "10/10" and then finishing you post there is selfish and stupid.
It's obvious that the people doing this are only content with getting their own sig rated. And if everyone did it this way, then no one would ever get an actually opinion on their sig. So I'm just saying that if the person above you post did posted a number and nothing to back it up, ignore their post and please rate the person above theirs who never got a real rating.
2) Don't knock off points because you don't know what show/manga/movie the persons avatar or signature are from. I am well aware that hardly anyone besides Awapuhi is familair with Ouran Host Club, but that doesn't mean that you can post "8/10 because I don't know who it is".
And if you want, you can just maybe ask the person what their sig is of, and, oh, I dunno, maybe they can tell you! Either way it shouldn't affect your rating because the character pictured in the sig/av don't affect the overall quality of the sig.
3) [Suggested by Pianist] Don't be mean and give a sig less than a 6 because you're bored of it. Not everyone has time to make new siggies/avatars every other week. And give suggestions so the person can get better.
4) [Suggested by Pianist] If you made the sig, don't rate it. That's selfish. "10/10 cuz I made it ;D" Just wait until someone else posts with a sig not made by you, so you can give it an unbaised rating.
5) [Suggested by Pianist]Try rating new people instead of two people rating each other over and over again. Obviously your opinion won't change about the same sig/av, so give the other person a chance to get someone else's opinion. And if you keep getting the same few people rating yours, you're probably posting in the rating threads way too often. If you make like 5 posts in a single rating thread in one day, you may wan to take a break and actually go participate in stuff instead of waiting for compliments.
6) [Suggested by Hok and Javu] Never deduct points because you feel disdain for the general group the av/sig is displaying. In other words, disagreeing with the general message of the image is perfectly okay, but downgrading it just because it's something you hate is forbidden. I really haven't seen much of a problem with this here, but if there are any racist, sexist, prejudice, anti-religious, or just plain close-minded there will be problems.
Example: (because this one may be a bit confusing)
"7/10 because I am Jewish and I don't believe that Jesus is really our savior" is OK
"4/10 because it supports anti-religion and anyone who is not Christian will most certainly burn in hell" is NOT ok
