Colbert is very good at what he does and is extremely entertaining - The Word is often incredibly witty.
Jon Stewart though, is far more impressive to me. Colbert's show is all about an alter ego, a character. Stewart is, by and large, being himself to a large extent. He cares a lot more about politics than his comical show might reveal. His 'interview' on Crossfire on CNN, which lead directly to the show being cancelled a few weeks later was absolutely stunning. If anyone has any interest in politics, journalism, or Jon Stewart, go find the clip on YouTube. It's easy to find and you'll not regret watching it. The guy is so sharp it's scary.

The crossfire thing was great, but that was just crossfire. I think Colbert's bit at the white house correspondent dinner was better youtube.com/watch?v=qa-4E8ZDj9s

Why did they think it would be a good idea to hire him? Honestly, did they ever watch his show? They should have seen that one coming. Of course, Clinton invited Don Imus to the White House Correspondent's Dinner, and Imus was nice enough to bring up Clinton's recent promiscuity right in front of Hillary and him. Now that's awkward.
