Ah I'm SO excited that Lost will be back tomorrow! This season is going to be so awesome. G4 and SciFi have been playing season 4 lately and I rented all the season finales so I'm so ready. ^_^ I'm really curious about what happened to Daniel and the others who were on the rescue boat when the island moved. And I hope Jin's alive.

It premiered yesterday...
...and honestly, I wasn't that impressed with it. Like there were some omg moments, but nothing really zomg happened. I thought that the only like greatest part was when they were on the beach and the [spoilers]arrows on fire came and like killed them[/spoilers]. But yeahh, that's pretty much all I thought about last night's episode.

I know what you mean West. I was expecting a really big shock that never came. Here are my thoughts: It hasn't really sunk in yet. I don't know if I like this new format or not.
Oh God I was SO happy Neil got hit with that flaming arrow. When he first started talking I was like PLEASE kill this guy off ASAP. So that was nice.
The funniest thing was Hurley throwing the Hot Pocket at Ben and then the look on Ben's face. lol
I was hoping for a more of a WOAH final scene. I was happy to see the 'jeweler' back, but I expected her to come eventually anyways.
The first scene was pretty cool. But what is the doctor's name? I thought it was Halliwax, but he said Candle and I thought someone else called him something different. I also saw him more as just a guy who read the lines given to him and not a serious scientist, so that was interesting.
And Dan being there.....I'm thinking that that scene occurs some time during the course of this season. Like they start to get used to the time flashes and try and make a plan. Dan finds out about this station and waits near it for it to appear. Then he goes in to investigate.
I had a feeling Sun would turn against Ben. That is certainly not going to be good for Ben. And getting her to come in 70 hours.... But I love how Sun is such a bamf after leaving the island.
The whole Dan/Des thing is awesome. SO confusing, but really intriguing. And they're my two favorite characters.
The Charlotte nosebleed etc. is interesting too. Is she sick because she's already been on the island or what?
Hmmm.....what else.....oh I loved Hurley's parents. They're great characters. Loved how his mom believe him right away. ^^
When Jack asks Ben something like "He is dead, right?" about Locke and then Ben avoids the question! So is Locke going to come back when they get his body back?
What about Walt? Nothing about him or Michael was mentioned in the Lost:Destiny Calls before the show either.... I thought they'd have to bring him back too....
I'm glad it wasn't just me that wasn't amazed with the episode.

I'm guessing Walt won't come back, which makes me go "bawww what happened to the stuff I thought would be important back in the first season?"
Also I'm guessing the entire plot will revolve around time travel now. So any loose end or question about anything, the answer's gonna be time travel. And calling it now, Ms. Hawking is Dan's mother.

Yeah I was watching some season one episodes and it was so weird how some things that happened then are gone now. But I really think Walt has to go back. They said Locke had to (but that might just be because he's the new leader of the Others and is 'special'). Walt is special too though. We never got an explanation of the strange things he did. And does Desmond have to go back too?
You're probably right about the time travel, but it'll seem like cop out if it's overused. The flashes on the island were already getting old by the third one. I hope that they don't happen so quickly all season or there won't be any time for a plot to get going. At least it seems like the Oceanic Six will get back in only a few episodes.
Mrs. Hawking being Dan's mom would be awesome. I really want to go back and rewatch that episode now. It was such a good one.

The one thing that I dislike about the newer episodes are that they are becoming more and more "fantasy-ish". Like in the first season, most of the things that occured would/could happen to stranded people. But now, its just like becoming a bit more farfetched. But that's just my take on it.

I'm guessing they'll find a way to fix the "skipping record" in a few episodes. Only better. But yah, it's pretty much impossible for Lost to give a really satisfying answer at this point, but it's still fun to watch.

I think that it's been pretty obvious since the beginning of the show that it was becoming more and more sci-fi/fantasy and less based in reality. And I liked season 1, because it dealt with character relationships and backstories that were more based in reality. But as the show progressed, I think it gave the audience quite enough warning that it was getting kind of out there as far as reality goes. I like that it has more of a sci-fi element to it now; the time travel thing was obviously coming - it's been built up since early season 3. In any case, I was satisfied with the premiere. Even though the show can't give any answers definitively at this point, it's certainly interesting. (Also, Dan is my favorite character ever. )

The thing that's annoying me about Lost is the conversations where one characters acknowledge a question we may have and the other guy saying sorry me answering that question is not going to happen.
Example: Guy 1: Hey you with all the answers why is that guy still alive, I thought he died last season Guy 2: Response 1) Sorry Guy 1 but I have no time to explain that to you Response 2) Knowing why is beyond you're current knowledge. You would have to be a ninth level intellect to understand. Attempting to explain would be a waste of time. Response 3) Now is not the time Guy 1. You'll eventually find out why.

I forgive them for that, what would Lost be without its hype and myyyystery.
Jack: Hey is Locke dead? Ben: lol not rly.
It would be more realistic and less aggravating, but not quite as entertaining.

I have no idea where you got that name from. In the Dharma videos, he always called himself Dr. Marvin Candle. But his real name is Dr. Chang... a serious scientist, but one who is playing a part in the videos, which are for like a psychological experiment on people in some of the stations, who don't know what they're really even doing there. Anyway, I liked everything about the season premiere. I do hope they stop skipping around soon, but at least I didn't get tired of it in these episodes. I think a great deal is being set up right now, which will lead to satisfying answers. (For the first time, I'm actually starting to believe it's possible that in the end, I'll believe Ben's assertion that his people are the good guys.) Personally, I suspect that Ms. Hawking is not only Dan's mother, but that she is also... Charlotte. DUN dun DUN! (hmmm, my spoiler tags aren't working but I've examined them closely and see nothing wrong with them, so I give up. It doesn't matter, anyway, it's just a theory.

Spoiler tags don't seem to work if you use them twice in a post. "Marvin Candle" also called himself "Edgar Halowax" in one of the orientation videos, so that's where Nymphadora's coming from. And I agree, the time skips aren't getting annoying for me, but I have a feeling they would if they continued for a few more episodes. Hopefully they won't, hehe. And that's an interesting theory about Charlotte. What makes you think that?

I like how characters sometimes avoid questions too. When they avoid it, it kind of tells the viewer the answer, but makes it more interesting and suspenseful. I rewatched the two episodes last night and I liked them a lot more. I was probably way too hyped up for it to come back that anything would disappoint me. It's really weird that Ben is more of a person now. In seasons 3 and most of 4 he was the creepiest, most mysterious bad guy ever. Now he's almost like Locke and Sayid combined I guess. The two biggest theories now are that Mrs. Hawking is Dan's mother, and the baby at the beginning is Miles. I hope neither are true because if so many people were able to predict what's happening in Lost, then it kind of sucks.

I think that both of those things are really minor compared to the things that everyone can't figure out. I mean, it'd be one thing if everyone predicted how the four-toed statue came into being or what the DHARMA Initiative was, but the identity of Dan's mother is (probably) going to be revealed within the next episode or so, making it only a minor mystery.
And it makes the fans feel better when they catch onto little hints like that and make conclusions that end up being right, hehe.
