lol, it's hard to see Cabbage Man beating Bumi... But anyway, I personally don't think Ozai's hotness is just physical. I mean, I know he's evil, but he's also one awesome villain (or so i think), and to me that makes him rather, well, flamin'. (Let's put it this way: good looks alone wouldn't have made me lose the battle not to swoon over him even tho said swooning felt horribly disloyal to Zuko. lol) But yeah, they all have their own...special something... (Argh. Words failed me. XD)

^^Wow that last statement hurt my brain, but then again I'm so tired............
Anyway, I guess if ya like evil it's attractive. For me that evil, ugly, uncaring soul made him the most UNattractive on the show. Even Jet rates above Ozai in looks, and I very much dislike Jet.
Hakoda is a REAL man in every sense on the word. His attractiveness goes beyond physical. I guess for me he's the kind of guy I would want in my life. He's loyal, a wonderful dad, strong, kind, gentle, and smart; and let's not forget the smokin' hot thing. And his voice is so sexy.
To each his own, so the saying goes! Enjoy the evilness and I'll enjoy the other!!!!

Let's do that. I know Ozai's evil, and i'll admit that's part of the reason i think he's awesome as a villain, but i don't think he got that evil all in a day. So I know many would probably disagree, but i seem to see some qualities in him that aren't so bad, or weren't, before he completely joined the "dark side." It's weird--in a fanfic about the previous generation, especially a modern au, i have a hunch that the character who would most resemble Jet in personality is young Ozai (at least, with my characterization of his younger self). I know that Jet fans will probably hate me now, but I don't mean that as an insult. I just think that maybe Ozai's present cunning and cruelty grew out of kind of a "bad boy attitude" kind of like Jet's. After all, Ozai has a sense of sarcasm, as evidenced by some of his lines in DOBS. Anyway, people reading this are probably either confused or enraged or both, so I'll stop now. But I can see what you like about Hakoda, dragonflly. He's an awesome person, dad, and warrior, and definately worthy of swooning.

I get the impression that young Ozai was a lot like Zuko...his father favoured his sibling...he tried, and failed, to improve himself in his father's eyes...he agsted...he grew bitter...he grew resentful...he grew murderous... Zuko was headed down the same path...but he grew beyond it, with help from Ursa, Iroh and the gAang, and became a better person...who didn't give a spoot about what his father thought of him.

I posted this in the other thread, but I suppose I should post it here as Young Iroh straddles the guy/man divide.

I'm not even going to look at them this time Zen. Nandi - I really liked that Ozai/Zuko comparison. I never realized that before. I guess I saw Ozai as more of an Azula as a child, but he probably wasn't. It's very interesting... Good thing Zuko got off that path.

Ozai is the Hottest Man on Avatar (in my Opinion)! Hey! Zuko had to get his good looks from somewhere, didn't he?!

I guess I saw Ozai as more of an Azula as a child, but he probably wasn't. It's very interesting... Good thing Zuko got off that path. It's funny, I always pictured Ozai like Azula as a child as well. I do think that Azulon favored Iroh, but I've always pictured Ozai as the mean and nasty child like Azula. He just seems to be more ambitious than Iroh, like he wasn't willing to see anything but what he was taught. It seemed as though Sozin started the war out of greed, not because he thought it was right. I can't say much about Azulon, but Ozai seemed to keep the tradition alive because he thought the Fire Nation was better than everyone, basically greed. As we saw in the finale, he was being cruel and heartless, to rule the world, his own words. I have a hard time understanding what is so attractive about a person like that. I know I've said "to each there own" many times before, but now I've read back on this thread and it depresses me. I just don't understand. I don't really have a point really, I guess I needed to rant. Sorry.

I know, I would probably be depressed too if i didn't see what there was to love about Ozai. It's just...I don't think he became as cruel as he did all in a day. Nandi had a really good point about him possibly being somewhat like Zuko. Personally, I think that there were definitely similarities to both Zuko and Azula in young Ozai. (It seems like he could have been calculating but also hot-tempered.) But even when he did become ruthless and tyrannical...I'm not saying that he wasn't wrong to do most of what he did, but I don't think he sees it as "evil." (I've heard that people like him rarely do.) To him, I think Fire Nation rule seemed like a noble vision worthy of attaining, and in a world where human weakness was indeed worthless, he'd have a point. But weakness should be valued, and Ozai doesn't understand that, or hasn't let himself admit it. That doesn't excuse him, I know, but it might explain it somewhat. So yeah, there's my two cents. But to my fellow Ozai fangirls, I will say: Flamio, hotmen! ^-^
