Wow. I missed a lot.
So what's this Sokkla debate gonna be about?
Also, you guys didn't like how Azula handled in the finale? Really? I thought it was great---I thought it was awesome---and yes I sound like a sadist but you know what? It's what some people in the fandom needed.
Before the finale, people saw Azula as this vile creature who was power hungry and willing to do anything and everything to stay in power. Some even suggested that she would overthrow her own father. They saw her as heartless and cold---but the finale changed all of that. That's why I love it.
Her breaking down showed that, like Zuko, she didn't/doesn't have it easy. It showed that Zuko was wrong--that in the end, he was the fortunate one; and that Ursa wasn't the angelic mother that Zuko saw.
After the finale aired, I saw so much threads about Azula on TV.com; and fanfics of Azula on ff.net are rising quickly unlike before. To me, the finale showed her other side. Like Bryke said, they try to make their characters more than 1-D.
So while it was heartbreaking to see Azula like that, it was needed in my opinion. What got me furious was Zuko not caring about his sister AT ALL.

that's not exactly what I meant when I said I didn't like how they handled her. I really liked the finale in showing her breaking down. it was when they did nothing with it, and no one in that whole show cared about it, mentioned it, or acknowledged it.
It was probably the most important part of Azula in the series. It showed that she really is human. It showed her as a person. It meant a lot to everyone--- except for the people in the show.
That's why I didn't like how it was handled. It was like, awesome, finally-- Azula is shown as a person. This tragic, beautifully torn person is human ------- uhh....does no one care? Like you, me, and Kai talked about Maylene, about Zuko. He turned his back on her-- as did everyone else.
that just made me say, "what the hell."
That was all. Other than that, I loved what they did in the finale lol.
but seeing as this is not the Azula thread XDD uh... Sokkla!
So... going off of the topic at hand, would Sokka act any different towards Azula after the finale
-- or
If for some crazy reason Sokka had been there wtih Katara and ZUko when she broke down, would he think of her differently or would he have done anything? Unlike Zuko who just stood there like a fool.

Ah okay. Got it. I agree---however I believe, for some reason, that they will expand on that (Azula's mental breakdown and Ursa) on the mini episodes that we're going to get some time before the movie. I mean there are supposed to be three right? 3 mini episodes that are 60 mins long. So there's hope---or at least I hope.
But yeah it sucked that there was no aftermath of Azula in the finale unlike with everyone else. And Zuko, that spineless, heartless---ANYWAYS....getting off topic.
So what is this debate thing?
As for Sokka. That's the thing. I don't know. He was pretty cruel to Ozai, who was already beaten. That was kinda low of him. And Azula---he has history with. She's the one who abducted Suki, so I don't know if his reaction is gonna be any different than Zuko's. Maybe somewhere between Zuko and Katara's.

There's going to be mini episodes?? O.O really?
And yeah, we don't need to say anything about Zuko- we already know how each other feels about him XDD jerk .... >_>
True... Though, I don't think he would have ridiculed her like he did Ozai. It was different for Ozai when he was beaten. It was just like those villains that get beaten on Scooby Doo XD
For azula.... I mean how can you ridicule someone who's chained down, screaming and crying and obviously not in a healthy mental condition. You're probably right, his reaction probably wouldn't have been much different from Katara's and Zuko's.
Though I do wonder what he would have thought if he had seen that. True, he was cruel to Ozai, but like I said, his defeat was different. I mean, even if I saw someone I hated breaking down like that, I'm not sure I would be able to stand there and hate them. It would definitly pull at my heart you know. I just honestly don't think he would think of her quite the same anymore after seeing that (If he had of course.)

You don't think Katara didn't seem bothered by Azula's breakdown? I thought she was a wee bit. Surely she looked more sad than Zuko. So maybe Sokka would be sad like Katara because no one deserves that but also torn---like, "she's the enemy, this has to be done" sorta deal. That's what I meant when I said in between Zuko and Katara's expressions. ^_^ He certainly wouldn't ridicule her. At least I hope not. I mean if Zuko, who hates his sister to the point where he's not gonna save her from falling off a cliff didn't ridicule her; I doubt Sokka would. Sokka's a puzzle though. He was the one who exposed Jet in his horrid plan; but when Jet returned he was more accepting out of his two friends. But I think that he won't allow himself to forget who she was before that. Because while he did nothing objective really with Jet in Lake Laogai; he was certainly against Zuko in the Western Air Temple, and I think it's because of the amount of damage and longer time Zuko was their enemy. While Azula was a season late, her extent of damage against them was more effective wouldn't you say? How I see them interacting in a Sokklan universe is that Sokka's curious and hopes her mental health is well and she's not being mistreated--but that's all. He doesn't care if she's happy or whatever because she was once the enemy. But when he realizes Zuko's not doing anything, he becomes concern because like Zuko he has a little sister himself. And if he were in Zuko's place he would be worried over Katara. And yeah Sokka and Katara's relationship are different; and Katara isn't Azula--but remember that Zuko had told the Gaang that his family was once happy. Surely Sokka is thinking that Azula and Zuko could have had a nice rel. once. I don't know... He visits her once and awhile, there are times she doesn't remember him and starts pouring out her heart (not all at once but gradually) etc. I guess it's somewhat like in the Sokkla100 that was recently posted at the Sokka_x_Azula community. ^^; And yes there are going to be mini-episodes. They'll come out some time before the movie. They're releasing it slowly and one by one so that our interest in Avatar doesn't wane before the movie. At least that's what I heard.

I thougt the mini episodes were a rumor. In the finale I felt bad for Azula to see her break down, but it upset me that there was no development on that Zuko didn't look sad at all. Since he had changed and Azula was his sister I just though there would have been some kind of emotion there. I hope the mini episode are true it would be nice to see what happened to Azula. And maybe get a Sokkla moment of some kind.

I... may not suck at debates... depending on what we're talking about XDD Awww thank you. That means a lot. I think it's not very popular because it's slow. Though, to keep them in character it has to be. Like you said, Azula is a very comlicated character. Her type of mindset doesn't allow for a speedy relationship. I've always felt her relationship with her mother mostly- and her relationship with her father needed to be acknowledged first because that's where her issues come from. And I agree with you, they treated her horribly in the finale. It was difficult to watch. It seemed rather degrading to her character since they didn't do any more on it and just showed her breaking down. And yes imprisoned is good. That's where I found my inspiration to write Hell's Angels. and speaking of which, I'll try to get chapter 10 out this weekend. But thank you again, the things you say are honestly keeping me motivated to keep writing it. more so than anything else at least. That goes for all of you in here too, who are bothering to read it lol. Means a lot to me ^^ But about this Sokkla debate, shall we get started? Any ideas? Well, you can't have them ravishing each other's bones at the second chapter xDD That's for sure =D In my country we say that "good things take time". So, to make a romance between Sokka and Azula credible, both need their time. Too much prejudice, pride and hate there LOL. I always said Ozai did not love her, contrary to popular beliefs. He uses her as a weapon and a tool for his own selfish interest. Yet, he is the only one who paid attention to her and she confused that with affection. That's why she remains loyal to her father no matter what. It's truly cruel the way he abandoned her. She really wanted to spend time with him. And after all she's done for him... I am sure that's because he blames her for what Zuko did. As you said in Hell's Angels, I really believe she was trying to protect Zuko there. Because, COME ON, if she was that power-hungry Fire Lord wannabe, WHY on Earth you bring your brother back home, making him a war hero? (She even understimates herself in front of Ozai to make sure Zuko gots his honor back) He is above you in the throne line, plus, Ozai instantly forgets about Azula and all the honor goes to Zuko, making him sit at his right hand in war meetings, while Azula is lowered to his left side. Yet she even accepts that. I cried (a lot) at the Finale. I will ignore the philoprogenitiveness they did to her forever. Because it is a nonsense. And her mother... I still have mixed feelings about Ursa. Maybe you can change my mind with Hell's Angels! =D As for Sokka, I can't wait till the romance starts. Azula will fall to his pheromonebending, and we know that xDDD CHAPTER 10 THIS WEEKEND? OMG OMG OMG I AM SERIOUSLY LOOKING FORWARD TO READING IT!!!!!!!!! I am glad I can give you motivation! It's such a honor! I really like your story, and it deserves a lot! And I will be your faithful reader till you finish it hahahaa =D

I don't know what Sokka's reaction to Azula would be. He can be unpredictable in situations like that I guess. I thought that scene when they made fun of Ozai was terrible and childish, so I was happy Azula's breakdown was more somber. I'd hope that Sokka would have just stood there sadly with Z and K because I thought it was a touching moment already. It would have been lovely if Sokka had walked over and tried to comfort her. I was actually surprised that neither Katara or Zuko did that. That scene was just shocking in general to me. I couldn't even bear to look at the screen because it seemed so personal. Oh I can't wait for a Hell's Angels update. ^_^ I just got a ff.net account so that I could keep track of updates. They send an email for any update by a favorite story or author right?

I think the finale made me hate the whole cast of Avatar. I hated Katara, I hated Zuko, I hated Iroh, Ursa, Ozai, Kabuki Girl (Suki), Ty Lee, Mai and I could go on and on. I do not belive Katara showed concern for what happened and happens to Azula... and if you read the book Katara is all "TAKE THAT YOU CRAZY"... I don't know... if you care or are affected, you don't act like that. As for Zuko, I agree with the whole thing you said above, that he hates her, he is still jealous of her (I bet he envies her ability to bend lightning with all his being) and that his behaviour towards her is truly despicable.
As for Iroh, that frustrated me a lot. So he can go lecturing his nephew about this whole "this war must not end with the fight of two brothers" but then goes all, "go back to our nation and prevent your sister from being crowned" (like he didn't know Azula won't be happy with that and will try to fight Zuko) EXCUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSE ME??? What is Azula to Zuko then? Isn't she his sister or did I miss something? D:
And about Ty Lee and Mai, I doubt they even loved Azula. After all, Azula is the only one shown being hurt because of their actions and what happened in the Boiling Rock. If Azula didn't love her friends, she won't feel betrayed and bad for what they did to her. Mai and Ty Lee do not show any concern for Azula at the end, Mai gets happily included in the gaang for the sake of some asjlgfldjhgl writer, and Ty Lee happily joins Kabuki Girl's harem (which I think is ret-ar-ded, because, come on, you had attention issues when you were little because all your sisters looked like you and you wanted to have a place in this world and a name... and you join a bunch of make-up fetish group where every girl looks exactly like each other? COME ON)
Back to the Sokka issue... (this is a Sokkla thread lol) I really don't know how he would react. I was happy he was not there when Azula had her breakdown. Sokka and Toph were really mean to Ozai (and even Kabuki Girl, who, inmho was not mean to be anywhere near the picture) so I would be REALLY freaked out if he were to do the same thing to Azula. Glad he was not there. Really glad.

I'm sorry you guys. I don't think chapter 10 is going to come out-- I sliced the bottom of my foot open on this rock and got sick-- running a fever and everything. Lots of fun >_> Just thought I'd tell you guys why I have to disappoint you >.< Ilah: Totally get what you're saying. I felt that way towards all the characters too, after the finale. And I agree with you, I don't think Ozai really loves Azula. He just loves what she can do for him. And like you said, once Zuko came back, he put him on his right hand side. And what did Zuko do? He screwed his sister over, point blank. Maylene- ah, I see what you mean. Yeah, Katara did seem upset to see that. She even turned away. You're probably right, Sokka's reaction would probably be somewhere in between Zuko's and Katara's. Though, like you said, he's a puzzle. It's hard to say what he would have done or how he would have reacted. Sokka's always been a character that can surprise me.

Hey everyone, I've come with some news. Hehee. Not good ones.
I have to retract the info. I said about the mini-episodes. The flyer was genuine--but Bryke hasn't said anything so it is said to be confirmed or denied during NYCC.
Again, I'm really really really sorry for the raising false hopes. TT____TT
