The point im making is that two characters making out doesnt set their relationship in stone.

The point im making is that two characters making out doesnt set their relationship in stone. No, it doesn't. But it should be blatantly obvious to everyone who Katara has decided to be with (*hint* He has an arrow on his head). Zutara is not going to happen; forget the Zuko element of it, Katara's simply never going to enter into that relationship. Zutara is canonly dead. It's not going to happen. Mai/Zuko is not set in stone, but Mai has been linked inextricably with Zuko since she was introduced. Mai and Zuko's relationship is going to be important to the plot. Sokka/Suki was an entirely different deal. Had Yue survived, would Sokka have gone back to Suki? Almost certainly not. But Yue died, so Sokka moved on.

She's not dead! Just turned into the moon, 'tis all! XP
I agree with the Yue/Sokka/Suki bit Gambs has put out; I don't Sokka and Suki ever did have much of a relationship, pre- or post-Yue. It was just chemistry (where have I hear that?) and somewhat of unfinished business. No one blames him for moving on; having a crush on the moon is kinda pointless. But still, he was a whole lot more smitten with Yue than he ever was with that Earth Kingdom girl.
Which I guess is Gambitia's point, no? That Mai and Zuko have been linked since she was introduced, and that Zutara is fan-made and fan-based more than anything else.

Ah, thank you for clarifying that for me. So the point your making is... Zutara is completely dead because Katara has shown some interest in Aang by the first episode of the third season?

Well...Katara not showing any interest in Aang was the number one argument as too why Kataang won't happen and Zutara will ;p
So....what's the new argument?

Yar har, fiddle-dee-dee, Mai kissing Zuko is alright with me! Katara loves Aang as we plainly can see, I heart the Maiko!

This whole time i was under the impression that i didnt ship Kataang because i believed it to be underdeveloped and rather trite. Now that I'v learned otherwise your argument makes perfect sense.

"Opposites attract" was once the most original way to go with tv relationships. Now its' been done so much, "opposites attract" is the cliche (and not the way things work in real life, outside of Chemistry). So I don't find Zutara any less cliche or predictable than Kataang.

Yea and Katara just loves Zuko If he made the smart choice there would almost be no way that Aang would've been shot in the back. Hell if he did that I'd actually take Zutara seriously

Maiko all the way ^_^ I was a little sad to see the lack of it in the season premiere the kiss and conversation between them was awesome though but I hope it gets a little more attention later.

After last night, I actually had to vote Zutara. I'm still a Maiko shipper, but Zuko + Katara are the same in many ways now, and I think their ship could be insanely more interesting if this is how Maiko's going to be played out.

Maiko all the way ^__^. As many pointed out, Mai and Zuko are linked since she has been introduced. There's a good chemistry between them without over-romantic and sappy actions.

I just think Maiko is a little odd to me. I know Mai and Zuko have had a relationship before but its still kinda weird. I like Zutara because its more complected. I don't believe Zutara will happen. But I don't think Maiko will last. I believe Kataang will happen. I am a Zutaran but I have no problem with Kataang. It is a cute shipping. But my point is in the end I think Zuko will be single.
