I don't believe he doesn't deserve someone...I just think he isn't ready yet...let him get himself together first... Actually I think, he should stop trying to "get himself together" finally. Many people around him tried to help him or give him an advice, but he always refused and tried to "fix things by himself" and now he ended up as a pawn in Azulas schemes. The fact that he is too proud to accept help or someones compassion (partially because he probably feels ashamed too, which is the same as pride according to Iroh) is part of his problem. Zuko may actually be the only person needing someone like this imho. Yah, I agree, he does need to learn to accept the help of others. Iroh even said so in The Chase. That's why I disagree with the talk about Zuko "not being ready for a relationship, he needs to sort himself out first." That's what he's been trying to do since the beginning of the show, and it's not working. A loving Uncle helps, but maybe a relationship with a girl would finally help him learn that lesson. Of course, he would be a handfull. The right woman for him would have to be very strong. That's why I liked Jin; she didn't let his cranky demeanor phase her--granted because she was a bit oblivious. Maybe Katara could deal with him too, but I really think she's going to be Aang's partner. Mai could probably stand up to him pretty well. Song I think was way too sensitive though. It's probably best for her sake that he only stole her horse-birdy and never returns.

No one deserves to live a life with that whiny jerk.

There is something in his whole 'need to accept the help of others'...but Zuko chooses to fight his battles, including those with himself, alone...for him to accept the help of anyone is as big a change for him as his turning his back on his father...it's not likely to happen anytime soon...

Zuko may actually be the only person needing someone like this imho. I can tell you, from personal experience, that not dealing with problems does not make them go away. It makes them go away temporarily, and then they come back bigger than before and screw you up even more than they would have if you just dealt with them in the first place. EDITYEDIT: That's why I disagree with the talk about Zuko "not being ready for a relationship, he needs to sort himself out first." That's what he's been trying to do since the beginning of the show, and it's not working. A loving Uncle helps, but maybe a relationship with a girl would finally help him learn that lesson. Romantic relationships do not make problems go away either. They compound and hide problems, and in the end both people get hurt. Sensitive =/= weak I'd wager that Song could deal with conflicts a hell of a lot better than Katara or Mai.

I think that each of them could understand different parts about different situations anyway. If I felt less lazy than I do now i'd highlight a few, but eh...I'll do it later.
Song seemed like she's have excellent empathy for him, though.

But kinky sex/magical endaemonism/celestial dissilience heals all!!!!11111!:cough: Or maybe its time to take ffrants off my f-list... Though I'm curious now, just how much of fandom thinks Song's a push over because she lacks fighting ability and fowardness?

Katara. If Zuko gets all angsty, she has the power to cool him down. And I dont mean using her waterbending.

I chose song because she could understand how he is scarred both inside and outside. Perhaps tragedy will bring them together...

well i don't think song's a pushover. i've said before she reminds me of aeris from FF7, who most definitely was not a pushover considering she sacrificed herself to save the planet(something that reminds me of yue). i just have never really been interested in her type of character. i have tried to like her though, and it drives me crazy that i can't seem to.

most compatable would be a better term. You're right, it is a better term...and that is what I wanted to say-I just couldn't find the right word or phrase.

Sensitive =/= weak I'd wager that Song could deal with conflicts a hell of a lot better than Katara or Mai. Yes, unlike the other two, Zuko won't end up impaled with something sharp. XD And the title of this thread is a bit off. I think when Zuko gets his crap together and mends some bridges, he might be deserving of Song's affections.

Ah no worries. I typically don't find myself liking characters like Song much, but that's usually when they're part of the main cast rather then a more minor character (and I always love minor characters . It just seems that a lot of people tend to think that Zuko needs a girl who can 'fight back' and that Song is incapable of doing so because she's 'too nice' and the other things I mentioned.
