I'm disappointed that the ship I don't care for occured rather than ticked...I avoid watching the episodes it's in...or at least the scenes of it in said episodes...

Er.. No way. Pairings are cool and all, but it's not the main reason why I watch the show. I watch the show for it's great storyline.. and Azula. I'm a Taang shipper, but if Kataang or Zutara made the cut I wouldn't bawl my eyes out or anything. I might be bitter about it.. but I can't see myself caring too much.
Hmm.. now if it were the other way around and, my fave pairing DID make the cut. I'd probably spazz for a few weeks.

i wouldn't stop watching any show i like just b/c my ship didn't happen.... that would be like saying... "i just watch the show for the shipping, there is nothing else the show has to offer other than the shipping" which is the opposite of how i feel. if my ship happens... then great.... if it doesn't, i'd be disappointed but i wouldn't stop watchin' b/c of that. that's just stupid in my eyes..

My favorite pairing will never become canon, due to "standards and practices" held to so-called "children's programming". ( Though their ability to get away with Azula's "favorite prisoner" remark lends me a bit of hope for future subtext! ) So, no... for me to stop watching would be ridiculous. I began watching Avatar for reasons completely isolated from 'shipping: the brilliant fight-scenes, multi-faceted characters, and engaging storyline. As soon as I found myself a favorite character, there would be no way to get me to stop watching. I need to see the conclusion of her storyline, come what may.

Oh Maiko. Completely forgot about that pairing. I think I might stop watching if they go there, too. Are you still watching now? That said, if my preferred couples don’t happen in the end I won’t stop watching. If anything, I would be upset because there is so much development, kissing, etc. that I would feel cheated they didn't go anywhere. Especially if they leave Kataang and Maiko like they are now (i.e. unresolved).

No. and considering my favorite ship is usually impossible with most shows i watch (Avatar being the exception because my favorite is Katara/Aang) that isn't about to change in the near or far future methinks

If my "ships" don't end up being set in stone by the end of the series, all I would be able to do is laugh.
Laugh my booty off.
It'd be a shocker, too, but I just love the entire story and all its characters too much to give it all up. So, nah.

This question doesn't really work, considering most people who are so extreme as to stop watching if their ship doesn't happen are the same people who will be convinced that it might happen until the very end.
Plus, you just know the major ships like kataang won't actually be resolved until the absolute end. Because that's how the writers roll it seems ;p

Hey, I didn't start seriously shipping until rather recently, so if Kataang dropped, I don't think I'd die. I'd just be a tad confuzzled why Mike and Bryan spent so much time developing it... But Avatar has so much else going for it. I'd never abandon it for shipping.

Under no shipping circumstances would I stop watching Avatar. As much as I'd love for Zutara to happen, I'm watching for the story. Not the shipping. I'm glad this was revived. People seem to be under the impression that lots of Zutarians shippers would stop watching if their ship didn't become canon, when it's quite the oter way around.

I think it's more likely for Kataangers to stop watching if Zutara happened, than it is for Zutarians to stop because of Kataang. The biggest reason why is because Kataang has been an ongoing thing throughout the series. Zutarians should have stopped watching a long time ago if their ship was the sole reason why they watched.

I would die a happy woman if Zukka happened.
But since slash inappropriate I would have to settle for Kataang.
If Zutara happend I would be disappointed becuase at this point it's unrealistic, and we don't have time to deal with the romance drama (people forget about Aang stick him with Toph)

Okay, it probably won't be til the last 20 minutes, half hour at the longest, of the show til we find out which ships happened and which didn't. In this, I don't think anyone would honestly stop watching with a half hour of the entire show left to go, especially when you consider the number of other questions Mike and Bryan probably left to be answered in the last half hour.
That said, I approach Katara's relationships with logic, and logic dictates this: Kataang. Foremost, Zuko and Katara never had a positive encounter until their brief meeting in the Crystal Catacombs, and even then, it was quite bitter. I'll give you that Aang and the core Gaang (Don't get used to seeing me use that word. I still say it's the stupidest thing related to the Avatar fandom.) may forgive Zuko, but what about those like Teo, Haru, and The Duke who have positive relations with Aang and his core friends (Again, Katara, Sokka, and Toph), and have nothing but negative relations with the Fire Nation? Surely, they'd have a word or two to say against Katara getting together with Zuko. When you take this major fact into account, more even than all the canon anything that happened to support Kataang or Zutara, you'll find that Zutara is, in fact, quite illogical. Sure, Mike and Bryan could throw a monkey wrench in there, and have Zutara happen either way, despite all the Kataang foreshadowing, but, like the Nazi agent would say on Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In (Ask your parents. My mom told me alot about it on her own), "Very interesting, but highly unlikely." He would also say, "Very interesting, but stupid.", but that one is irrelevant to the current subject.
Now that I've finally found a justification point for my thoughts on Kataang and Zutara, would I stop watching Avatar if either ship happened? Being a logical (That should be read as: 'Not officially shipping, but recognizing it as the only true Katara ship at the moment.') Kataang shipper, I'd truly hate it if Zutara happened, but hey, 2008 hasn't been my year for any major entertainment thing happening the way I wanted it to (The Giants *ack* at the Super Bowl. Tony Stewart tripping literally at the finish line- the last lap!- of the Daytona 500, and giving the win to Ryan Newman, whom I think is over-hyped.), so if Zutara did happen, I wouldn't be surprised at all. Besides, I'm an Azuki and Azutara shipper. One (Azuki) was crack, but became canon, but you know they're not even going to allude to it in the finale. And the other is crack all the way. So if neither were even alluded to, that'd be fine, cause I already know they won't happen.
That all off my chest, regardless of how the show ends, I think I'd have to bow out early and in secret, telling only my friends here that I'm leaving, no matter how long DH continues after the show ends. I hate long good-byes, and believe that the only way to avoid the inevitable is to get it over with as soon as possible when it looms. Of course, that's all subject to change, as I may decide to stick around, but considerably cut down my posting.

I wouldn't stop watching if Ozai and Ursa got back together but I would be super uba inconsolible angry upset .......... Also I very much doubt they will get back together..... *Cries at the thought*
I support kataang but if zutara happened I don't think I'd care too much I don't like any of the goodies anyway.....

I wouldn't because, like everyone has said, the show's not all about shipping. If I was going to stop because of shipping I would've stopped after The Desert when Aang's relationship with Toph wasn't looking too hot. And falling in love with Zutara (just closet about it >>) over the summer....I don't care what happens, I'm still going to love the show while lovin' my ships. I ship Tokka and Maiko as well anyway. XD
