To be honest, and I know I'm gonna lose my head for this, I think Aang should stand alone. He's, for one, a member of a society based on Tibetan monks. (No joke, it's TIBETAN monks. The colors match, and Gyatso is actually the name of the Dalai Lama. Some coincidence.) And Tibetan monks follow Buddhism, aka earthly love is a no-no because it brings suffering, desire, etc. And Buddhist Monks also don't have sex, which the Airnomads do, as it was stated that Airnomads do not take vows of celibacy. And, as sex is often a part of love, it's possible the Airnomads had relationships as well. The Airnomads are based on Tibetan monks, that doesn't mean they are Tibetan monks. Plus, I don't really know how much Aang still follows Airnomad rituals. The Airnomad culture is pretty much extinct, so it's possible Aang just thinks "Aah, the hell with it, I'm going to do it anyway!". Uhm, care to explain why not? Because 'that' type of love is the only thing binding him to the world? Well, then let me state, I think Aang is more mature than Zuko, Jet, Ty Lee, Mai and perhaps even Sokka. All of them have shown adolescent behavior that is far from mature, where Aang has shown maturity beyond his age in many cases, especially in the second season. Zuko is selfish and foolish, Jet is obsessive, Ty Lee is just...blah, Mai is spoiled and Sokka seems to have taken over the role of goofball of the gang, ever since Aang turned a little more serious. Maturity is not defined by being playfull or good-spirited, in that case Gyatso and Iroh are immature too. Maturity is defined by the decisions you make and how you make them and Aang always shows great maturity when it comes to making serious decisions. Sure, they're gonna kill off the main character in a show made for 6-11 year old kids... Yeah, right...

preferbaly...i would like to see aang stay single...he just doesnt seem good enough for a love life yet..i mean...he is the avatar after all...his job is to save the world...not have his mind full of some 'girl' ..also..i hope he dies at the end of the series. (sorry aang fans. but that is the most sensable theory according to me right now)

I think I like Aang best with Katara ( some people may think its werid cause their two years apart but the guy I like is two *well a year and 362 days* younger than me * and I think he likes me too ;D *) But then I also like Toph .... Maybe aang should pick and not me! But I just my vote goes to Kataang * cause you can't beat a classic*

I definitelly say the right one for him is Katara, and I would be devastated if Aang died at the end of the series.

He outright stated that he loves her, he works so hard, he at least deserves the thing he wants most in return. Everyone he ever knew has died he shouldn't be denied his new source of comfort and love.
