Hello everyone. VoC here with a horrible artistic slump.I just don't have any inspiration right now. Getting to the point, I figured that if I drew stuff with a theme I could get my inspiration back. However I don't have any ideas for a theme at all so I was wondering if any of you guys could throw around some ideas for me?

Isolation is an excellent theme. It's inspired quite a bit of art in various forms.

How about Sokkla? That's a good theme ;D
Seriously though, what about 'Courage' or 'Superficiality', those are pretty versatile.

Change your medium and go to town. sculpting is fun, get some canvas and paint....the sky is the limit.
Pop in a CD that stirs you...see what you can come up with. Experiment with other stuff, you can make collages...try sewing...

^Grangran that might actually work! But it's kinda essential for me to get back in touch with the good ol pencil & paper. But that is truly a novel idea...*stares at numerous bits of scratch & colored paper* (karma's you for pointing out the obvious that always elludes me) Actually after I saw the lack of Sokkla fan art I decided to try but haven't finished Sokka yet. >:3

Maybe you should do free commissions for people, you know, requests.

Hmm.. draw hands in various positions. It's the hardest thing to draw and involves a lot of concentration. When I'm bored, I find myself drawing whatever room I'm in- just to get some pencil on the paper.

^ And in response to her suggestion, don't just do hands but try drawing people in various positions. Start with a simple sitting pose and then draw it again from a different angle and perspective. That can be a challenge too.

Or just not draw at all. I draw when I feel like drawing, and usually my drawings come out the best.
So I wait it out.

But she's looking for something to draw....
Oh!! Here's something else!! You could do an art trade with a friend who likes to draw.

Well, you don't have a theme, that's ok, because you can always work on your technique, too. I have a couple of books with good examples in them to practice, and i did well for a while when I did it regularly....of course, unless I see it, I can't draw it...I PHAIL...
