I agree with you kaislayer, but Zuko isn't a master fire bender even though he can defeat Katara during the day.

I agree with you kaislayer, but Zuko isn't a master fire bender even though he can defeat Katara during the day. How do you know that? What does it take for him to be considered a master? For someone to say gee whillikers, you are a master firebender? I think it is quite obvious that he is close to becoming one. He has defeated two masters Zhao and Katara. He isn't average like the firebender soldiers we have seen. In the second episode they were frozen by Katara and were unable to free themselves on their own. They needed the help of their comrades. Zuko was able to burst through Katara's ice traps on his own. He may not be as strong as Iroh but he is coming close to it.

I agree with you. In Siege of the North, Katara was only powerful because of the Full Moon making Zuko seem weaker. Zuko did get some stabs in at Aang in Bato of the Water Tribe, might I say thats my 2nd favorite fight scene , after the Agni Kai (I LOVE THE BREAK DANCE MOVE!)

Today my sister tried to do my hair like Katara's . When that brilliant idea didn't work out, she tried to do Yue's! Ouch.

It was during a fire nation raid. That was all that was said as far as the time period. I'm guessing maybe a few years past. (around age 8 for Katara, just a guess). I hope they have an episode where they actually show their mother and how she was. Like Katara reminiscing about her like Sokka did about their father in "Bato of The Water Tribe".

There are a few comments I'd like to bring into question. avatarfan06:Nothing..its just her Drama Queen attitude that bugs me Awapuhi:she is a bit like *worship me* Now, I do not agree with these opinions but since they are only opinions I can not call them right or wrong, I would merely like to know what basis you could possibly have for these opinions to believe they are correct? I would also like to question this comment. Kynara:True... and she's got all *I think* the guys drooling over her.... Grr. hmmmmm do I detect a hint of jealousy? Now that would be unfair to katara basing your opinions of her from such feelings tut tut. Another thing that bugged me was the amount of people ragging on katara for her clouded judgment and so called merciless nagging of sokka made her annoying. But as previous people have stated she is only 14 and doing surprisingly well for the circumstances also as for the matter of sokka he simply deserved it.

I highly disagree, Katara is one of the most powerful waterbenders we've seen in the series saying she was only powerful because of the full moon is incorrect (in my opinion)and insulting. Also, Master Pakku's words don't necessarily mean she's a full blown master, saying that Aang would be calling her master could mean that he would be learning from her during their travels, also Zuko's obviously had training since he was young boy(considering he's a fire nation prince) even after he was banished he had training from iroh,Which looks to be a very skilled firebender. On the other hand Katara had no training until she arrived at the northern water tribe and only had the experience of a few days (maybe less) before the fight!

^true true. Besides, she seemed pretty good even when the sun was out when she was sparring with the other students. I don't think it was just the moon. Sure the moon helped her, but she still has a lot of skill.

Hmm...I'm not sure Sokka deserves some words from Katara 'deserving' it but que sera sera...I like the fact that sometimes I can be a bit wary of her; it helps me understand her, myself, and the simlarities and differences between us. I love when characters do some things in a reasonable number that 'irk me guts' because it makes them more human and usually makes me like them even more. Katara has such a forgiving nature as well, I can't really dislike her.
If they ever make one of her necklaces and sells them I shall purchase one- mwa ha ha! (^^) But those who have said 'she's still a kid' I think that can be applied to everyone in the show, only with the phrase 'they're just human' to some extent. Just like the Fire Lord, I can't dislike him too much because I need to see how he is and his motives (however unreasonable they are for hurting such a loyal, wonderful, brillant-*gets bopped 'okay already!') for disliking Zuko so much.
Katara really is handling things though. She's pretty as well, which, for some reason, appeals to me that they didn't try to change her to make her 'less this' or 'less that' (or they did, but the result was great!). I think it's the innocence coupled with determination that really makes Katara, along with her forgiveness and heart, stand out to me. I think I see a bit of myself in her; we don't hurt anyone intentionally, and if we do, there is probably a very good reason.
In other words: Go Katara Waterbending Waterbender- Go...*with-ahemahemahemzukoahemahem* goooo! Keep on holdin' part of the show!
