Appayipyip: Your recorder is probably in C, if you have a soprano one (like the kind you buy in music stores) Actually, the only other recorder I've played is a tenor recorder and that was in C as well. But that makes things very simple. You just play the note as written.
Another thing that might make things easier for people to sound out at home is the Web Piano. It's a little cute website that gives you a little piano to play. All the notes are actually written on the keys, so good for people who are new to the piano or don't read music. Learn it on the web piano, and then translate to the real instrument of your choice!
And I should really get cracking on doing some stuff for this. I love music, and can play a few instruments, but mostly viola. But I guess I'm just shy. I played in a gamelan a couple of years ago too...and track team LOVES gamelan, they use it all the time. Good example is the Azula sound that they always play when she's the center of attention...or the pretty music playing when Aang is looking sadly back at the Southern Air Temple.
Thanks to Blue Chibi for thinking this up (Or at least getting it organized
A lot of the people on this forum play musical instruments. A lot of the people on this forum also love the music of Avatar. So, this little thread will collect sheet music and tabs for Avatar music! Now you combine your love of music with your love of Avatar. Play it for your grandma, for your teacher, at your recitial, at the mall, and spread the Avatar love!
Want to help? Since the chances of Nick releasing Avatar sheet music are roughly the same as a comet crashing into the earth and killing us all, we need people to transcribe the music so it's playable. If you know how to play an Avatar song, share your knowledge! If you want, you can download Finale Notepad for free to write out the notes.
We'd also like to collect MP3's/videos of people performing Avatar music. So pull out that microphone and get recording!
I don't have the sheet music, but there is a video on Youtube of a guy playing the main theme (well, the part when the title shows) that sounds pretty close, so maybe you'll know which keys he's pressing from that?
