I've made a thread like this before when I wanted some info about Karma. I looked at the 'Everything you need to know about Karma' thread, but it didn't answer my question. My old thread was put in the trash bin, and my questions still haven't been answered. So, here they are again. 1. How do you get Karma. And, (a new question) whats wrong with my Karma? I just looked, and some of it has been taken away! If someone knows why, please tell.
Thanks to anyone who answers my questions.

You get karma when another member clicks the "exalt" button under your name. As for losing karma, that's nearly always due to a Proboards glitch. If it's a substantial amount you may be able to contact a mod or staff member and have it restored.

This should be moved to the "Questions" Board but I'll answer as best I can. You cannot exalt yourself, other people exalt you if you make/say/do something they think is karma worthy. You can see in the left hand side of the screen, under people's Location or whatever there is a button in blue that looks kinda like this: [exalt] If you click that on a person's profile, they get a karma. You get karma if they do it to you. As for your reduced karma, it means someone has smited you probably for no good reason. But I'll exalt you to even it up again

Musogato also posted this: Karma on the ForumThe way I see it, Karma on the boards is a way to show your appreciation (or lack of) for other members on the forum. If you like someone or what they wrote/did, you can click Exalt to give them a point. Just as if you don't like someone or what they wrote/did, you can click Smite to take away a point. But other than that, I think the Karma numbers are just for show and don't do anything more.

^LOL yeah, but I have great amigos who are willingly to waste their clicks and restore my lost karma points each time they notice just because a glitch or someone here is a hater.

The semantics side of me is going crazy right now, so I have to post this:
Smiting is not a "glitch". It's a function of proboards (and many forums) that's just been hidden here to try to prevent abuse. It's still usable, and I would even go so far as to say a legitimate action.

But, there is also the rare occasion where one losing massive amounts of karma at once (more than would be reasonably lost by smiting) and that is due to a glitch. (I don't remember who it was, but I'm almost positive it has happened before)
