i want to add a poll to a thread I started but I'm not exactly sure how

Just go into the board you want to put the poll in and there is a button to the right that says new poll, click on that and then you can make your poll.

As far as I know if you want to make a poll you will have to make a new thread.

Yeah, you can't change a normal thread into a poll.
