Just wondering whether anyone else noticed the foreshadowing in the season opener. On the ship when Aang rips of the fire nation banner and throws it over his staff, and then at the end it catches fire.
Just wondering whether you caught it or if you just thought it was an odd coincidence.

I never noticed that. But will this have any relivance in the future, do you think? I felt so bad for that staff, but I would have sworn that I saw Aang fly it in the S3 promo trailer in an eppie that wasn't the season premiere.

I did notice that, but I'm not sure what the significance is. It almost seems to suggest that Aang will lose his heritage in the FN, but he must eventually find his way again because he's shown in modified AN clothes with a new glider in the ComicCon trailer.

I KNEW I saw it again! I know this should go into the theories section, but I have two theories on his new staff. 1) either the Gaang+others made it for him. 2) Turns out that not everything in the Northern Air Temple was tampered with. What if Teo found it somewhere in the Air Temple?
Just a thought.

I noticed that, but I can't interpret any meaning for it just yet. There's not enough information.

Well, every airbender was known to have a glider and we know Teo returns so either
A: Teo or the others make or finds a new one
or
B: Aang makes or finds a new one.
Since the season seems to be about Aang losing his identity, maybe making a glider is a right of passage for Airbenders? Kind of like how a Jedi must make his own lightsaber before he's considered ready?

Maybe he had to learn because he was a master airbender. Maybe it was required for becoming a master airbender.
