It was Katara. Sokka was chasing after Momo. She hung out in the Avatar room all the way until Aang lights up.

How about we talk about other things while waiting for seasons 3!? I think you might be on to something....maybe we'll get some clues in the 3rd season.

Well while we're waiting for season 3 we need something to talk about. There aren't many new forums left on this site that are new.

Aang was staring at the statue because it looked familiar, but he couldn't place it. Aang shares his spirit (of the Avatar spirit) with every avatar before him, and Roku is the closest. Like a brother-uncle-er-thingamajiger. I stare at things like that all of the time. I AM THE NEW AVATAR!!! P.S. Please try to STOP FIGHTING!! We should all be a united front to avatar. Not fighting eachother, focus that on the Fire Nation!!!

Remember when Aang, Katara, and Sokka went to the Southern Air Temple? How Aang was starring blanklessly at Avatar Roku's statue? Well I think Roku was about to contact Aang when Katara shook him. You might remember that the statue had a little twinkle in it's eye. Why else would Aang stare at it oblivliously? From watching the show, there was a blink in his eye, but also the only way to have that contact with Roku was in the spirit world, or as we've seen in the Fire Nation sanctuary within the solstice. Why would Aang stare into his eyes obviously? Because at the time Aang was just finding out who he was again, one hundred years is a long time, a very long time, so having the feeling of what he used to be seems normal, not within contact of Roku. - Anaco

You might remember that the statue had a little twinkle in it's eye. Why else would Aang stare at it oblivliously? It was a sense of familiarity that made Aang look at the statue, but its clear that Roku could not make contact directly with Aang until he got to Roku's temple. The statue might have been a first contact between the pair, but I dont think Roku's spirit was as strong at that point. I think it relates how Aang enters the avatar state, the more he uses it the more easy it is to interact with his previous incarnations. Look at what happened with Kyoshi in the town of Chin, Aang was able to call up Kyoshi's spirit quite fast in that episode compared to how long it took him in the spirit world part 2: avatar Roku. as far as we know Aang only went into the avatar state twice before he saw Roku's statue, also he didnt have any real knowledge of the spirit world as well... remember he didnt learn that trick till the spirit world part 1. But by the time he got to Roku's temple he was quite a bit more prepared for his meeting with Roku then he was in the southern air temple

I would'nt really agree with it being all her fault. By the time Aang made it to Roku, almost everyone could've contributed to delaying his visit with Roku. You gotta think about when they first met, Aang wanted to visit all those places before they would head to the other water tribe. That's just how I saw it. .

Apparently, this word, while not actually a word, has been used 248 times on the internet. In nearly all of these cases, "blanklessly" was used in conjunction with some form of the verb "stare." This leads me to believe that "blanklessly" is a combination of the words "blankly" and "expressionlessly." However, these two words do not have the same meaning, and therefore when combined they form a word which means "without blanks."

Well did she have an effect on Aang, yes and that why he end up the way he is right now cause he wouldn't let go, but is it her fault...No cause Aang is in control of his destiny and he should have thought with his head and not his heart.
Of course we love how he thinks with his heart
