The saddest episode for me would have to be zuko alone, it was sad with a mixture that kind of made me mad, because of how the episode ended, but the episode was really good.

The saddest episode was the last one, because I was praying, "Please let there be Tokka! PLEASE!" And there was no Tokka. God doesn't really like me all to much when it comes to wish-granting. *pout*

I think either between the last episodes. Pure epic, some times funny, but.. when everyone was about to die :3 Pure sadness.

In terms of depressing definitely Zuko Alone, The Crossroads of Destiny, The Desert, and the finale (only because of the fact that Avatar was over).

Oh there have been many sad episodes. -Zuko alone -Season 1,2, and 3 finales -The Desert Are probably my top 3.
Zuko alone and The Desert are very self explanitory. The finales are definatly the saddest though.
Season one Yue turned into the moon (That's rough buddy XD)
Season two Aang dies.
And season three, this is really one of the only times I cried, and it's stupid because one-it's happy and two- I'm a Kataangian. So the saddest part of season 3 was when Aang and Katara kissed. THE ONLY TIME I CRIED WATCHING AVATAR. I was so happy but then it was all like; The End, and that didn't help because it lust put closure to the best show ever!

The Desert where Aang had to deal with loosing Appa, the look on Katara's face when she grabbed his hand and pulled him down and hugged him as he cried...It was just so sad.
Or the Tales of Ba Sing Se with Iroh's story at the end of the episode. When I first started watching that I really did cry when Iroh was singing that song for his son and crying. The memorial to Mako at the ending was bitter sweet.
I know that there are other ones but those are just the episodes that stuck in my mind.

i'd probably say some of the saddest episodes were: The Tales of Ba Sing Se-iroh's tale The Crossroads of Destiny-when we thought aang would die The Siege of the North Part 2-when yue died.

Hmm.....for me, Zuko Alone and Sozin's Comet: Part Three. For Zuko Alone, I felt like crying the whole time, and just started crying my EYES out when the boy yelled that he hated Zuko. I'm like, a super Zuko-fangirl, which is part of the reason that Sozin's Comet: Part Three got me. The Agni Kai music was sad, but when Zuko got shot I totally lost it. (I was 99% sure he was going to die since I kept myself away from the spoilers...) Although, Aanglover's right. Iroh's tale was REALLY sad...

I'd say Iroh's Story in The Tales of Ba Sing Se. Saddest thing in the 'verse, if you ask me. And it was dedicated to Mako. That made it even sadder.

Here are my top saddest episodes
The Desert was a sad one, since Aang really did lose one of his closest friends. Appa may have been an air bison, but he had been through more with Aang than even Katara or Sokka. I think its interesting where that sandbender who stole Appa was like "I didn't know it belonged to the Avatar", yeah my response is 'Don't steal things, idiot! You don't know who it belongs to!'. The saddest moment was when he went into the Avatar state and you had Toph and Sokka run for cover with the sandbenders, but Katar just stood there and hugged him. *tear*
I thought the moment where Aang died in the end of season 2 and Katara brought him back was pretty sad in places. Aang went against what he wanted to do when it came to Katara and he ended up getting shot through the back (and quite possibly his heart) with electricity. Ouch!
I think Iroh's Ba Sing Se tale was really sad, and how it was deadicated to Mako, was so bittersweet.
I actually found a few moments in the finale sad. Especially when Zuko and Iroh were reunited, that almost made me tear up. Especially how Iroh reacted. Also the moment where you thought Toph, Sokka, and Zuko were gonna die. I was like 'Nooo!'
In my mind, there's a lot of episodes that tug at your heartstrings, but I think that's one thing that makes it such a good show.
