Well I personally will defend the earth king if only a tad bit, he was told by Aang and co that Suki was an ally it just so happened it was the angels...

If anyone screwed up it was Zuko in my mind, he had a chance at a better life and he blew it... How does going home to a comfortable life with your honour restored equate to blowing your chance for a better life? Sure...we all know it's (probably) not going to happen...and he may have blown his chance at a more spiritually fulfilling life (that remains to be seen)...but he certainly didn't blow his chance for (at least in his mind at the time) a better life... And yeah...the Earth King blabbing like that? Pretty stupid...but he appears to be little more than a figurehead any way...Long Feng really ran the show...

You know as well as I do that this will not bring Zuko any real happiness, its all artificial, something to help him run from the pain he went through in "the earth king" the foolish action came in him running away from his problems instead of confronting it.

Telling Azula about the fire nation attack was bad.

Well, the Earth King was told by the Gaang that the Kyoshi Warriors were friendly to the Earth Kingdom, so he would have trusted them. Katara didnt actually see Azula's face; she was too far away when she was telling them about Zuko.

heh heh...fangirls...heh heh. It was probably the Earth King, you know what, if I ever become president I'm gonna run around telling everybody that is so much as my acquaintance, all my foreign policy/invasion plans.

The Earth King. I know, he didn't know, but seriously...You DON'T tell new-comers to your palace/mansion about secret invasions. If it's a secret...It's a SECRET! I know, he was happy, but he should have still mantained a level of control.

Long Feng deciding to antagonize Aang openly was the dumbest decision in recent memory.
Close second is Long Feng relying on Azula to organize the Dai Li coup.
Man, Long Feng. What a chump.

While it was really stupid of the Earth King to tell Azula about the invasion, it was not his fault. I don't see why Sokka did not at least stay long enough to say hi to "Suki" but as it turned out, he didn't and the Earth King thought that Azula was to be trusted. Not so much stupid, just disappointing.
I think it was stupid of Katara to tell Azula about Zuko being in the city. At least Katara knew what Suki looked like. She should have noticed, IMO.

You know as well as I do that this will not bring Zuko any real happiness, its all artificial, something to help him run from the pain he went through in "the earth king" the foolish action came in him running away from his problems instead of confronting it. You think the only reason why Zuko chose to do what he did was because he didn't want to get sick again? Zuko knows who he is. He said it in Zuko Alone after he remembered that his mom told him not to forget who he is - "My name is Zuko, son of Ursa and Fire Lord Ozai, Prince of the Fire Nation and heir to the throne." No matter what anyone else wants, that's who he is, and he's not going to be happy if he's forced to act as anyone else. Of course it's not going to be all sunshine and butterflies if he gets it, but at least he won't be lying to himself anymore. And, as Prince of the Fire Nation, what other decision does he see? Either he can join Azula and hope that he can figure out some way to take his rightful place back and not end up in prison, or he can join with Iroh and either stay a tea boy or betray his nation by joining the Avatar, neither of which he could see ending with him being the prince that he is. Was it a good decision? No. But it's not nearly as dumb as telling your secret invasion plans to people who you just met.

I think one of the stupidest things was the fact that Katara would've used her spirit water on Zuko's scar if Aang and Iroh hadn't gotten there. Does she really carry it with her everywhere? If so, why wouldn't she try to use it on Jet? Or at least save it for when someone was badly injured, not just use it on a scar? Katara lost a lot of points with me. That makes two of us.
