On Friday MTV Geek announced that Dark Horse will be releasing a new hardcover book for the Legend Of Korra, Art of the Animated Series, Book 1: Air! In addition to the art, it will also feature commentary from the show creators. According to their listed stats, it will come out July 24, 2013, have 184 pages in full color, is 9 by 12 inches, and will be priced at $34.99. Additionally, although they have a picture of the cover featuring the promo art for the Korra season finale, Bryan Konietzko mentioned on his Tumblr that it was just a temp for the press release, and that he and Joaquim are still working on the real cover. So, will you guys be picking up this book when it comes out? For those who were following the San Diego Comic Con and Korra Nation posts leading up to the first season's premiere, we've already seen a good amount the development art. So it'll be interesting to see what the never-before-seen artwork is, especially if it's taking up nearly 200 pages. I'm also curious to see if they will be continuing this Art of the Series books for the upcoming Korra seasons as well.

$35? Which will no doubt be a good deal more for me despite the fact we currently have a stronger dollar than the US...
I'm not sure yet. Korra never had the same appeal as the original series for me.

I really enjoyed the art book for ATLA, so I'm excited to hear they're doing one for Korra. It is available for pre-order on Amazon for $23.37. Which seems much more reasonable than $35.

That price is a little steep... But I would love to support the series so I might pick it up.

I really liked the background art in Korra so I would like to see more of it and the concept art -- perhaps there will even be storyboards and other ideas that had to be cut because of time. Background info of when Mako and Bolin were little, or training with Toza? Or more flashbacks of when the Avatar Kids were young and growing up, like Tenzin and Lin? I would definitely want to buy the book if it had things like that.
The price is high though so I would definitely want to look through the book before buying it. And having that many pages for just twelve episodes does seem a bit much considering they had fit the sixty-one episodes of ATLA plus extra stuff into the same amount. But I guess we'll see.

I just pre-ordered my copy and the price has dropped to $19.88.
And ooh I would love to get background information in the art book.
