Will we see him return for Book 2? Perhaps with an actual name instead of just a rank.

I kinda got the vibe that Amon killed him. Of course characters have survived a lot more but the way it was played just pointed to his death. I would imagine that Amon would see him as a loose end since he saw him blood bending and he would have trouble getting his followers to discount the testimony of someone they probably have quite a bit of respect for.

It looked like he was just flung and knocked unconscious. A shame we never got to know his name.

I couldn't tell if he died or not, but I think he did. I would have loved to see him do something with his life instead of helping Amon.

I feel like he's supposed to be one of those implied/ambiguous deaths.
Could be wrong, but I guess the idea is both Amon and his second-in-command are out of commission which will keep the Equalist movement disorganized

All I know is that he suffered some serious villain decay over the course of the first season. He used to be a menace to fear for the first few episodes, but he became a butt monkey by the end of it.

I feel like he's supposed to be one of those implied/ambiguous deaths. Yeah, the expression on his face led me to think that, if someone asked Bryke about it, they'd admit that Lieutenant was the reason why the Welcome to Republic City flash site mentioned bloodbending could be used to crush people's internal organs. Bloodbending always looks awful, but that seems even worse. =/ Amon certainly has no reason to let him live at that point, either; he has a high enough status in the Equalists that no one would doubt him if he claimed Amon was a bloodbender. Though I could see them wanting to keep him around if the bender/non-bender conflict is going to come up again, since he's just about the only face for redeemed Equalists that we'd recognize.

The Equalists still has Hiroshi Sato. It didn't look like he died either.
If anyone can keep them a threat, it's him.

The Lieutenant maybe the only character I know of in the series that Amon actually killed. Please feel free to correct me if Im wrong.
