It makes sense that Amon would threaten the Probending League. He is essentially declaring war on the city and it's bending inhabitants. And this is where we say that stuff is about to get real.
I wonder if later in the show the Equalists will perform some act of terrorism on the same level as 9/11? Like blowing up Avatar Aang's memorial statue?
That would be sending one helluva message aside from just wrecking a Probending arena.

CHIEF BEI FONG, Y'ALL.
I have been waiting to see her in action since the first episode and I was not disappointed in the least in her action scenes. I love that she and Korra are on better ground now and I look forward to more of their interactions in the future.
My main issue with this episode was the confirmation of a second love triangle with Tenzin, Pema, and Lin Bei Fong. On my Twitter, I was liveblogging the show here and there and one of my reactions was "The Legend of Love Triangles." I thought there was a little bit of shiptease between Tenzin and Lin Bei Fong which I didn't really like seeing. I love Lin Bei Fong, but I really like Tenzin's wife and kids and I don't want to see anything come between him and his family.
Asami didn't factor into this episode at all, which I was disappointed in. She blows Mako a kiss, Korra is disgusted, and then she disappears. I want to see her and Korra interact so badly! However, I do have to wonder if Asami disappeared because she's got something to do with the Equalists.
The Equalists destroyed that beautiful arena. ;_; When they broke the glass of the dome, I yelled "NOT THE DOME!" and then the damage just kept piling up. This probably leaves Bolin and Mako without a place to stay, so I wonder if they'll both be living with Korra now.

I thought there was a little bit of shiptease between Tenzin and Lin Bei Fong which I didn't really like seeing. I love Lin Bei Fong, but I really like Tenzin's wife and kids and I don't want to see anything come between him and his family. Luckily I don't think Bryke would ever go down that route. I think they just wanted to establish that these two characters have a past. I think it is an interesting and surprisingly mature dynamic. I think the ultimate goal is for Tenzin and Lin is to move beyond the past and become friends again and that's it. Beyond that minor hint of former romance, this episode was top notch. It is definitely my favorite episode so far. That animation, unf. I knew Lin was going to be impressive, but boy did she bring it. Korra's firebending is also impressive as always, but I noticed that (minus the first episode) she rarely uses multiple styles of bending at once. That needs to change if she is going to have any edge. This episode also notes how important airbending is going to be for her, if she can ever use it! Other notes: - Bolin and Mako seem to be very separated from the main plot. Unless they are forced into it, they seem to outright refuse to be apart of any of Korra's fights. While this makes sense right now, I see this becoming a problem as they continue to be Korra's friends. -Where the hell was Asami during all of this? Suspicious. -Even though Tahno was cheating, I feel slightly bad that his bending has been taken away. Maybe he will become more important and go through some decent character development then.

Nick.com/Korra has the episodes streaming -- they usually add the newest one within a day or two of airing, but I think it's only available to those in the USA. The show is also on iTunes and Amazon.

I just had a thought. What if Tahno and the Wolfbats end up teaming up with the Fire Ferrets to take down Amon and the Equalists after this episode?

Another great episode. The fight scene at the end was amazing. Lin definitely lives up to her mother's legacy as far as bending goes. Korra was great as well, but not knowing Airbending is definitely becoming a hinderance to her. She probably also really needs to learn metalbending and how to redirect lightning.
I liked the Lin/Tenzin background story. It explains the tension between the two. I think it was presented in a way that suggested there is nothing between them now than a possible friendship. I'm sure they were friends during most of their childhood, so I hope they will be able to get over it and rekindle that.
This episode made it very clear much as Amon preaches the "equal" message, he only wants the tables turned. It doesn't matter what move the benders make to appease him, he is not going to stop until non-benders are in complete control. He knows exactly the things to say and do to get everyone right where he wants them to be able to carry out his plans.
I'm a little disappointed that benders have never been able to even get the upper hand in a fight. I understand they need to make the story work, but benders should be able to defend themselves at least a little better than it is being portrayed.
I agree I do think the Mako and Bolin should join Korra in some of her fights against Amon. As her friends, they really should have her back. She was clearly outnumbered and could have used a couple more benders on her side. I also miss their presence in episodes that focus more on the Revolution. I think if they could get involved it would be possible to tell their story as well as Amon's story in each episode instead of jumping back and forth.
I wonder if the Wolfbats paying off the refs will come into play again. I can see the refs taking payments, but after three years, I would imagine that fans would be outraged by the blatant rule violations not being called. It seems that those in higher positions in the probending world would start cracking down so as to not loose fans.
This is the second time Korra saw that vision, so I'm really curious about it now. I want to think that whoever was on trial is in some way connected to Amon. I hope we can get some background on this soon.

Was it just me, or was there some sort of resemblance between Tarlock and the man in Korra's flashbacks? Perhaps that could have served as some sort of back story to the reason why Tenzin and Tarlock are always butting heads, or how that could have tied into Amon's revolution as ILZ mentioned. Other than that though, the episode over all was just simply amazing - I never wanted it to end! I have no opinion other than that A few things that I loved in this episode - The theory that Lin and Tenzin were romantically involved....CONFIRMED! ^-^ But also, at the same time, Tenzin having to establish the fact that Pema was not a "home wrecker" - Korra saving that cheated knock-out in Round 1 by hanging from the edge of the arena! Wow. - Amon! The way he infiltrated the Pro-bending arena.. I can't even express into words. and the best part... Shiro Shinobi! He is one dedicated announcer

My main issue with this episode was the confirmation of a second love triangle with Tenzin, Pema, and Lin Bei Fong. There is? WOO! That means she's not a Tokka baby! That means Sukka is still (possibly) on! *does the dance of joy* ...better go find a place to watch it...

So the possibilities seem to be Zuko and The Duke from the original series.

Of course...I voted for the 'A guy we don't know' option in the poll.

I hope we can get some background on this soon. I love the episode, especially Ms. Bei Fong. She and Korra were straight hardcore in the fight. But like ILZ, I was a little worried to see the benders as Shiro Shinobi said "get their clock cleaned" so quickly by chi blockers. It almost looks like the benders are slow, which is odd seeing the pro benders speed is probably better than the average bender. If Korra doesn't master airbending, she at least going to have to get the techniques of airbending, the concept of negative jing and being able to get into the Spirit World. Even if she defeats Amon, it will be a pyrrhic victory, creating a martyr in Amon and proving the point of the Equalists. These vision sequences are killing me. The guy looks oddly familiar. Ugh, I can't wait for the end!!! Side note: Cabbage Corp. Shouts to the lovable but hapless cabbage merchant.
