I'm back! First real post in a few years lol.
LOL again with his awesomeness. I can't wait for more of Korra. Although I did feel a little weird when watching it 'cause the setting was much different and of course there was much more advanced technology. It doesn't feel the same as ATLA. Which is good of course =D

Man it has been soooo long since I've been here, and I'm glad to see the forum is still around! Hopefully the same number of people will still be on here as when the first series was when it was going strong...
First thought on seeing the old water tribe lady... hey, that looks a lot like Gran-Gran! Then when one of the older guys says "Master Katara" it was definitely a spit-take "wait what?!" moment, haha. Although I probably should have expected it!
Yeah that was such a poke at the fanbase!! Especially the way the answer gets interrupted by Meelo, haha...
It's amazing how different and yet how familiar the first episode feels... it definitely retains the character of the first series and then some. I think one of my favorite moments has to be when Korra gives Lin Beifong that hilarious look on her way out... it sums up her character in one gesture XD
Edit: Also, a couple of other awesome small things - it was really cool how Katara and Aang named two of their children after Katara's mom Kya and King Bumi!
Also do you think Tenzin's wife is from the Earth Kingdom? Judging by the color of her eyes...

I watched the new episodes off of the iTunes free downloads. So awesome to see Avatar again! I knew we were looking at Katara when I recognized her pendant, but I really hope we see more of her in the series. Because I'm a mystery-monger, I have so many things to look forward to with this series! But I'm hoping that the writers won't just keep me guessing about what happened in the past (Sokka, Zuko, and, yes, Zuko's mom, great fandom nod ), but also set up new and exciting mysteries with Korra and Co.

When I first watched it, I wasn't particulary thrilled. Korra irritated me especially as a little girl(she reminds me of Kyoshi, who got on my nerves) and I thought the question about Zuko's mother was random. Once Korra left to go to Republic City, it picked up for me and I enjoyed it. The animation, music and the voices are spot on as ATLA crew always is. I love it's set in a Beijing/New York/Kyoto city.
