XD i LOVED this episode! When Appa appeared to be coming out of the sun and totally kicked the Dai Li's butts...AWESOME. =( Poor, poor misfortunate Jet. I always feel terrible for characters that die after leading totally crappy lives (like Sirius Black! XP).
And what of Zuko? Life's a tad tough when its entire focus and goal has been lost. What's he going to do if he's not aiming to capture Aang? I totally agree with Iroh when he was yelling at Zuko back in Appa's prison, but i think he's forgetting how young Zuko still is. think about it: his life of adventure and determination and hope has suddenly turned into just living with his uncle in a happy little tea shop in happy-loony-ville. Sure, it's good for Iroh after his tiring life, but Zuko is still a teenager and this is a big transmission for him. he CAN'T stay where he is and i don't think he's going to. =( maybe that means leaving Iroh...
Overall, AMAZING episode. ^.^ Any previous doubts about this season have been lost because of Lake Laogai, City of Walls and Secrets, and Appa's Lost Days. *cough*andcaveoftwolovers*cough*

I thought that this episode was amazing! I only wish they had started the Long Feng/Ba Sing Se story arc earlier in the season!
I personally thought that the fight with the Dai Li was pretty awesome, even if their abilites were somewhat underwhelming. I think this can be attributed to the idea that they were simply to "take them into custody" - they don't really try to hurt any of the characters besides Toph, who they recognize as a master earth bender. They probably consider the rest to be relatively small threats, and thus don't use conventionally powerful Earth Bending - they simply try to catch them with their earth-gloves.
Overall, the atmosphere was awesome, the animation relatively up to snuff, and the action sequences amazing. Long Feng's development as a villian is infinately better than Azula's - the more we see of him, the more powerful and sinister and otherwise impressive he becomes. I am still impressed by the Dai Li, who seem to use finesse more than raw strenght - after all, they are all "skinny," as Zuko calls them.
I only have one question. Why did Zuko free Appa? I personally think that he was not so much trying to help the Avatar as he was letting go of him - by letting Aang leave on his bison, Zuko is rejecting the temptation to hunt him and turning his back completely on his former life.

i liked katara's reaction to jet the best in the episode, it was pretty funny... what do you guys think? it seems the creators are slowly killing off all the other ships.

Ok got a chance to watch the whole ep, and it was pretty good. I wished that Jet would have lasted longer but his death is poetic. I wonder if Long Fei survived... and if he did how long will he last before Long Shot and Smeller Bee try to kill him 0_o .
The Zuko storyline was relatively short but had a good confrontation between Iroh and Zuko. Ultimately i don't think Zuko cared one way or the other about Apa but released him because it's was what Iroh wanted. I think we'll see Zuko more conflicted in the next ep while he tries to figure out what he wants.
I felt terribely sad for Longshot, SB and Katara. They'll be the ones most impacted by Jet's death. I can however see Smeller Bee taking up Jet's swords.

Isn't it wierd that Iroh found where Zuko was? Yes very, I don't understand how Iroh didn't get caught at all... and how he just randomly found him you forget who TRAINED zuko... Anywhere that Zuko can go Iroh can follow... especially in such a small area as the city

Four words: Dragon of the West. So the Aang Gaang left without finding the king. I mean, they're obviously not going back to Ba Sing Se. So what are they going to do about the solar eclipse? And why is the next episode called "The Earth King" if they've left Ba Sing Se? Questions, questions, questions! And they won't be answered until November 17th.. I am so relieved that Zuko has finally moved on. I mean, he's been kind of stuck in a strange place for a while (which is natural considering), and so it's great to see his character really push forward. Thank goodness for Iroh. I jumped when he started yelling, but then I smiled. I love that man. So what will happen to Zuko now? I personally don't think his destiny lies in serving tea. While I'm happy for Iroh and his new life, it's not a good one for ZuZu. I'm assuming the next episode that features Zuko will cover what lies in store for him. But just to speculate, it seems perfect right now for him to eventually teach Aang bending. Not right away, because Zuko's not ready for that, but he's definitely taken a step in that direction. We shall see. I'm just very impatient.

Remember how huge Ba Sing Se is. they call it a city, but really it is it's own nation within a nation. The Gaang is still well within the borders of the City.
And I can see Smellerbee taking up Jet's swords, too. I can also see Long Feng returning to try and get revenge on the avatar only to have a perfectly placed arrow hit him in the back from the shadows...

I've just seen this episode. It was a great episode although I saw it on youtube and the quality wasn't great. I don't think we will see anymore of Smellerbee or Longshot in the series, now that Jet is history.

I've just seen this episode. It was a great episode although I saw it on youtube and the quality wasn't great. I don't think we will see anymore of Smellerbee or Longshot in the series, now that Jet is history. I think we'll have to see them at least once, to confirm that he's dead, at least. Otherwise, people will keep thinking that they're all going to make a miraculous comeback at some point or other, and that would start to get annoying after a while. Besides, I'd like them to take down Colonel Mongke for Jet. Using Jet's hookswords would make it even better.

Like everything in my mind and everything about it says that Jet is dead...but we don't know that for sure. Because everyone left before he died so who knows maybe Jet is still living. YAY APPA! I am so happy that he is reunited with Aang I couldn't be any happier. When he threw the dai lee into the lake I was like YOU SHOW HIM! WOOT! I liked this episode alot I am happy that I got to see it.
