I'm here to spread the influence of pony lore with each and everyone of you. In case you are unaware of this show. It airs on the new station The Hub and you can easily find episodes of it on YouTube. The creator, Lauren Frost, has even linked to them herself. This series has also spawned some very cute memes, macros, and tunes. Once you start watching, you'll soon be hooked. Don't feel like you have to be a girl to enjoy such classic animated programming or even a kid. Remember... the only people who hate Friendship is Magic has never seen it.

Lol, on the other forum I frequent, everyone raved about this show. I thought they were pulling my leg but I checked it out. For someone who hates girly, pink stuff and unicorns (they do have horns), it was pretty well written.

Ya beat me to it, bro. Just so as you know, her name is Lauren Faust, not Frost.
Anyway, yes, I am a brony. That's what people who like My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic call themselves and each other. Funny how when I was little, boys weren't supposed to watch My Little Pony, because it was for girls. Now, here comes Lauren, who only headed up some of the best cartoons ever, and she makes My Little Pony awesome and a show that every member of the whole family can watch and enjoy.
Matter of fact, I'm so in love with ponies that I'm involved in at least three different pony RPs. Involved in pony RPs, when I've obsessed over Avatar longer? Yes. And I somehow find ponies easier to RP than Avatar. Figure that out.
Anywhom, if there can be soldiers who can watch My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and fall in love with it, I think anybody can. I just suggest giving it the first four episodes, cause Lauren wanted continuity, but after the pilot, Hasbro said no and that it should be able to be watched in any order after the pilot. Otherwise, you will rapidly find yourself hooked and immensed in pony culture. I was, and I didn't want to be, I just wanted to see what all the hullabaloo was about when some of my favorite artists on dA started doing pony art.
Anyway, watch it. Watch My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Sheogorath, also known as Necrose in the brony community, gives it two hooves up.

I fess.... I'm a brony. I've always been a fan of all kinds of off the wall cartoons and the humour (and music) both caught me. I really need to find some brony communities to join, because I am really into this show but not into the fandom at all.

I believe bronie (or is the singular 'brony') refers to the male fans...a female fan is a pegasis...
I never gave the old MLP cartoons a look, they seemed way too sugary and insipid, but I too heard of the awesomeness of this one. It has a very impressive pedigree, related as it is to the PPG and the Imaginary Friends. Between this and Young Justice I have something to look forward to again...even if neither is currently airing on TV here...

Brony is a blanket term. I've also seen it used for female fans of the show, I think for the purpose of being easier to keep track of. I say, whatever works for people. If girls want to refer to themselves as bronies, then more power to 'em.
Yeah, it's a good show and has a good pedigree. If you have iTunes, they have all the episodes available there. If not, the episodes can be found fairly easily on youtube.

US iTunes does...AU iTunes does not...and you can only DL from your local iTunes...YouTube is my only option at the moment...
New episode due later today...LOVE John de Lancie as Discord...it's like he's playing Q for a younger generation.

Aw... that bites. Well, Youtube has them all, as far as I know. I can grab links for them if you need.
Also.... YES. God yes. John deLancie as Discord was brilliant. There's no way they couldn't have had Q in mind when they were working on the character because so many of his mannerisms (both vocal and physical) resemble Q. He even does the finger-snapping thing at least twice that I can recall. Epic.

There's been some drama in the fandom between the "Only male viewers can be called Bronies give the girls their own names" camp and the camp that want Brony to be a blanket term. Personally I think Pegasis sounds kind of silly so if I must be called something other then simply a fan I'd prefer Brony.
I grew up with the 80's Pony series (though I can't remember now if it was the first "& Friends" series or the "Tales" or a bit of both here and there) and have fond memories of watching Escape from Midnight Castle and Escape from Catarina over and over and over again. I also loved the toys and still regret selling them at a yard sale when I was younger.
I really love the new series, it keeps the heart of the older series but gives it its own spin and is well animated, smart and fun and doesn't talk down to kids or ignore older audiences it finds just the right balance. I am hoping for more eps like the dragon ep or the ep with the three headed monster/dragon those eps really reminded me more of the adventure based older series. Though the slice of life character pieces are a lot of fun too.

I really need to find some brony communities to join, because I am really into this show but not into the fandom at all. Well, I'm part of a small roleplaying community that is currently seeking new members to play not only OC's but also characters from the show. I'm an admin of the board on which the game I have in mind is played and I could link to it if anybody is interested in joining. You just have to prove yourselves capable of roleplaying in your character app. And also, according to James "Wootie" Wootton, the director of FiM, the term for a female fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is pegasister.
