I... don't even have the words for this. Clearly, Night smoked copious amounts of crack before filming began:

And there's more...
If anyone thinks that this film would be even remotely better if these scenes hadn't cut out out of the final product... think again.

See? Not every decision M. Night made was bad. Looks like he deleted some scenes that needed to be deleted, and I agree that first one with the dancing was just weird.

He didnt delete enough. The fact that the footage was released on dvd shows they are actually proud of it and wanted people to get a chance to see it. To be fair, the footage really isnt that much worse than the stuff that made the actual cut.

Oh. My. Word! For putting it quite nicely, what in the world was M. Night thinking? Has he lost his mind completely?! Why did he just put the whole movie on the cutting room floor? They should have just left those portions in the movie, it couldn't have made the movie any worse...okay no I take that back...just...UGH So horrendous in so many way, it makes me so sad.

This is a longer version of that first deleted scene.
The fortune teller is trying to tell Aang what he wants to know but she's obviously just guessing. That's funny and so what real fortune tellers and psychics do. ;D

The general idea was to make the Earth Kingdom everything from Asia to Africa.
West Europe got left out despite being perfect mold for Fire Nation.

Wow. Those Fire Nation soldiers are real wimps! Run off by three little kids. And we're supposed to believe they're winning the war?
I was considering getting it when it hits the home market here...but I think I'll wait until it hits TV, or the bargain bins...

Would it of really that hard to get more Asians into this movie, (by that I mean Eastern). I mean, the only person in all of avatar TLA that looked at all Indian was the guru, and suddenly all of the fire nation is Indian and or Middle eastern (Or maybe a mix, haven't really seen the movie).
Lets just hope either M. Night keeps his grubby fingers away from our shows or we get someone who actually knows what they're doing next time

^No, not really. It wouldn't have been hard at all to get East Asian actors for the roles. But Paramount and Hollywood in general, is of the belief that, 'Waahh, our market is the White man, so we have to make movies for him.' Pretty much the attitude.
As an addition; I find it very telling that the person who posted these deleted scene won't allow any comments on them. They have to be 'approved' before being posted.

I remember a controversy when one of the new Star Wars movies, can't remember off hand which one, came out and some of the bad guy characters had Asian accents. Movie makers must sometimes feel they're damned if they do, damned if they don't.

That's not anywhere near the same thing as The Last Airbender situation, though. Episode I of Star Wars had a fictional species voiced by English actors in stereotypical Asian accents. I remember cringing in the theaters when I saw the movie for the first time, and I don't think I'm that sensitive. It was just awful. That being said, those accents were the least of the problems plaguing the Star Wars prequel trilogy. Would that that had been the only issue. Though for The Last Airbender, I'm not sure if having an entire cast of Asians and Inuits, with proper Chinese calligraphy and the best CGI in the business would have helped. The script is just total crap.

Ugh.
You know, I had surgery to removed a kidney stone right before the movie came out and that experience was less painful than sitting through that movie and then watching these deleted scenes.
