At this point, everything we hear is a rumor until Bryke confirms it, at least in my eyes. I'm not going to start worrying about information that hasn't been confirmed.
So far, the only thing that has been confirmed is that there will be a new series called Avatar: Legend of Korra. And I'm excited for that and I have no worries, because I trust Bryke tremendously. xD

tds - While I partially agree with what you are saying, I think having the relatives of A:TLA characters in the new seies is a cop out on the writers part. Including them might work, but give us something new! And I agree with your comment about Roku. Chaobunny - I trust Bryke too! Even though I wasn't fully happy with the ending - like no one died in the finale? That's way too convenient - I love the series so much and know the quality of this new one will be the same. And hopefully have the epicness of the end of Book 2 in every episode. Can't wait for Comic Con! Too bad I'll just be one of those dorks watching the live feed from her east coast computer.

I was a bit disappointed that no one died in the finale too, but overall the finale was epic, leaving nothing to be desired (except for the whereabouts of Ursa...that was such a cliffhanger for me! ) I really loved A:TLA, and I can't wait for news about Korra! Can't wait for Comic Con! Too bad I'll just be one of those dorks watching the live feed from her east coast computer. You and me both. I'm hoping that sometime Bryke will come to a convention in the Northeast so I can eventually meet them. I'll be able to come to NYCC for the first time ever this year, but I don't know if they'll be going. I guess it doesn't hurt a fangirl to have hope!

Part of what I was saying was that descendants of the original main characters would only be included if they're important enough to warrant it, and if they are that they'll be fully fleshed out characters of their own. They probably won't be included for this reason, except maybe an airbender. What I was saying was that everyone's objections to children of the main characters was because children of the main characters was all we knew about them (because they don't exist yet). If they are made however they'll have more to them than that. If they are well-written then I don't see how it would be a cop-out.

If they are well-written, and are there for a purpose other than to signify who hooked up with who, then I will be completely fine with it. Let's hope that this is the case, then!

Unless you count blood bending, but I can't rationalize that. I don't know ever. Actually, if you read the artbook, Mike and Bryan had that idea from the beginning. :3

I cannot wait until Mike and Bryan confirm who's in it and who's not

I feel like an idiot.
Korra probably is an Avatar and by mentor, they mean, Aang will be her Roku.

Any theories on what the main conflict of this series is going to be?

I want my theory of a spin off of the other character's stories Like I want more Iroh and want to see more of his past Or maybe it is the first avatar? Maybe the secret life of the crazy foamy guy or it's some random character we don't care about in the series but now we have to care about that character

I'm just happy that there will be more animated series, with Bryke at the helm. It's the silver lining of this dark, hollow, live-action movie cloud that has cast it's ugly shadow across Avatar fandom...

I'm curious as to what the plot of the new series will be.
Villains? Another war?
Who knows?

Whatever it is it's going to be awesome. I'll join you with that mindset. No more nitpicking something I know nothing about for me!

Is Byrke going to comic con this year to announce this?
