... it brought me back here-- like so many others. I've been panning around the site, and I'm reading lots of "I can't believe I'm back here posting!" notes, and I think that's awesome.
If nothing more, the movie has given us all a reason to start interacting again, rembering, reminiscing, and re-solidifying our love for A:tLA. Admittedly, I'm a nominal member, but I felt an urgency to come back here when I heard what had happened with the movie. I still haven't seen it, and I have decided that I will not, if only to preserve the canon of the original in my mind.
So if nothing else becomes of the movie-- if M. Knight still has the helm and butchers the next two movies, at least it will keep us talking because we now have new things to say. And we will have everyone here to share in the preservation of the Avatar world as we know it.

Awww that's sweet. And very true too. I hope that Korra comes out in the near future and keeps us all here.

The downside to all this is, unfortunately, people who have never before seen the series will write it off as being bad based on the movie. Sad, but true. Quite a few reports of people being turned off the idea of watching the series after the movie came out.

True but to my surprise actually knowing about the movie got some people interested in the series before the movie came out. My friend and her husband watched a bit of the series before it came out and liked the series. Once they saw the movie they were a bit dissapointed but they still saw the rest of the series and loved it. They told me they stayed up one night recently to watch the finale. So a bad movie was better than not having a movie.

I sure hope that number will be small. But hopefully there will be more who investigate for themselves and become lovers of the series... and hopefully wind up here.

Yeah I know a bunch of people who have recently got into A:TLA. And we can bond with them by tearing apart the movie! That's kinda how the Harry Potter fandom works too.

I havent been on this site in just over a year but the movie kinda made me think about the site again and how I loved it. After coming back I also found about Korra, which I am super excited about. Hopefully it brings back the fan base.
