Here are the best and worst parts in my opinion: Best:Yue. For some reason I really liked Yue. I thought it was a nice touch to have her hair turn dark after giving her life back to the moon spirit too. Worst: Lack of character development. I didn't feel much connection to the characters I love so much. Honorable mention for both best and worst: Weird casting. I don't mean actors who came off at stiff and lifeless. Zhao and Monk Gyatso are the two who come to mind. Zhao was just strange....his voice, sense of humor, body gestures....everything was so un-Zhaolike. Then instead of Monk Gyatso being this wise and frail old man who seems intimidating at first, then funny and friendly, he was a young, jolly, big teddy bear. Those types of casting choices would have ruined the movie if it hadn't ruined itself already. So it just made it funny instead.

BEST:
Sokka: Felt that he ended up the best of the group, but that can be because he had the most acting experience. I'm thinking that if there is a second movie, the actors will have warmed up to the parts considerably. You can tell that they where starting to by the end of the movie, and I think we will see a better outing next time.
Yue: I agree that the loss of her hair color and the fact she did not fade away was very cool. It had the same feeling as in Romeo+Juliet when Juliet sees Romeo die, instead of just finding him.
Iroh and the Fire Nation: I really felt this is the nation that M Night got right, and even if Zhao was a little weird, he seems to me what a Indian Zhao would be like. Remember, hes done by Jason Issacs in the show........ so its natural to take a different direction. While not the plump tea loving comic relief character that he was in the first two seasons, I thought Iroh gave the best performance of the bunch. You felt that he really cared for Zuko, like you do in the show. While I still felt like you could have just had Dante Bosco do the role in live action, (lol) Dev made a pretty good run of it, and I could learn to like his character, as long as the second movie follows his path to redemption to the letter. (Don't screw up Zuko Alone PLZ)
Fight scenes: I like most every one of the them, except for the fact that some of the movements on some of the fights didn't quite work, but overall, I let the theater feeling as if I wanted to go out to the nearest fire and wave my arms around.
Azula: She made the movie in her one scene at the end, which made you just want it to happen because she was going to be in it.
Worst:
Episodic structure: It was just bad......... You literally went from the Southern Air Temple to the Northern Air Temple in 7 minutes. Plus, you didn't even need to have the Northern Temple in the movie.
Katara: While not as bad as I once thought she was going to be, she was redundant at times throughout the movie, as well as just a little weak. She really needed to grow a pair like she does in the show. I think that could have been accomplished by having her waterbending master fight, as well as showing of waterbending as a whole.
Length: While it is for kids, the movie just needed to pull the long haul and be up there with the Harry Potter movies. There is so much to say, and frankly, if there had been more time used up in exposition, which was sorely need to make people like this movie........ it would have faired much better. The whole first season is full of growing up, and for the most part, M Night choose to skip that.

I thought for the CHARACTER that Jackson was GIVEN he worked it well. And I LOVED Yue's hair going black and then Iroh going INTO the Oasis and holding her, lifting her out and bringing her to Sokka was WONDERFUL.

Best:
Iroh, Gyatso, Sokka, Yue, and Zuko- I liked these portrayals. It was interesting how they were a little different than in the series, but still stayed true to the original characters.
Effects, Scenery, & Bending- GREAT!
Worst:
It was rushed- The story went a little fast, trying to sqeeze in the backgrounds of the characters. I would have liked to see the movie a little longer, so it could have included more character development.
Star Wars beginning-I would have liked to see the same begining that was in the first episode of the series, with Katara narrating.

Worst....---
Pronunciation, If you are making an adaptation of a television show, the least you could do is leave the names the same.
The entire story seemed to be Dialogue only...I want to see the story....not hear about it.
Aang being so stoic--I was really hoping that Aang would be the happy little twelve year old I loved in the show
Rushed--things happened way too quickly.
They left so many important stories and characters out (Roku, Kyoshi Warriors etc) and the things they did put in they did wrong.
The Fight Scenes--I know that they were trying to show off the martial arts but COME ON! It took everyone an hour to bend anything. Which made the fight scenes so boring and anti-climatic.
Best....-----
Iroh--- he was the lazy uncle I know and love, and how angry he was at Zhao for messing with the spirits and helping the "Gaang"
Yue---I have to agree with everyone above, I loved her and the changing of her hair color was a good idea
The special effects...namely: Bending, Scenery and of course the costumes, the makeup and clothing in the movie was spectacular.
I could go on or hours to be honest but I will just put those main things.

Best:
- Yue! She was perfect. I really loved her, and the way she delivered her lines. Plus, her scenes with Sokka were so cute!
- Iroh. He looked very different, but his persona remained as the original.
- The set designs. The Northern Tribe was beautiful.
- The special effects. Most of the effects were decent.
- Azula appearing. <3333333333333333
Worst:
- The writing. It sucked. I cringed at parts, they were written so badly.
- The choppy editing. The story moved way too fast.
- The acting. Most of the acting was pretty bad. Those Fire Nation Soldiers sounded ridiculous. The main cast did improve, though, over time.
- The martial arts. The fighting styles didn't even add up with the bending effects.

Worst....--- Pronunciation, If you are making an adaptation of a television show, the least you could do is leave the names the same. actually they prounonce their names right. A friend of my did some research and in the Asains the countries thats how they pronouce their names. I checked to see if she was right and watched a promo of the show in Japanese and they prononce Aang's name like they did in the movie. Bad- Rushed/The Flow: The movie went way too quickly! They cut out major charcters aka...suki! Also characters learning each other names happen so oddly. Like Katara was narrating about Aang and then it went to her asking his name. I was like that doesnt make sense...and also she learn Zuko's name at the end of movie! The flow the plot was jumble. They had the group found things in the wrong places, ect, ect. I could go on. No personailties: I felt like the characters I grew to love werent themselves in the movie. The actors didnt bother me. It just if they sat down and watch the show maybe they would have done a better job. good The Fire Nation Lord: hmmm...lets see...they showed his face! He's supposed to be a powerful/mystrious character good: music/setting- I enjoyed the score and the setting of the world. Iroh- he was my favorite in the movie, he was himself in my opinion the opening: I liked the seeing the four people bend in the beginning, it was like watching the opening of the tv show the ending: was pretty good, but was it as awesome as the tv show? no, but handle well. I liked seeing Azula at the end teehee!! =) made me laugh thinking what will happend to her at the end of book three XD

Nicola actually portrayed the character pretty well if it wasn't for the crappy lines and lack of personality due to no character development.

Nicola actually portrayed the character pretty well if it wasn't for the crappy lines and lack of personality due to no character development. i agree with you Bonzu..most of the WORST parts people are mentioning are with the characters...and you wanna know why, cuz of the way they said their lines...and the way it was written. the script was the reason the movie fell apart....anyway..my best and worst parts Worst: -The Earth Camp (prison?) ..that whole scene (other than some of the bending and Noaang speaking ) was horrendous...i really hated it. -the northern water tribe when they first get there...the scene totally cuts off..one minute there at the watergate, the next..BAM...with Yue...if they would have shown some of the city, that would have been worth it.. -any scene with zhao in it...(other than the blue spirit scene when he's talking to aang...that was kinda believable) Best: - Tidal Wave and aang thinking of his past memory of his people...that was a very touching scene with great effects and music. LOVED IT! - The Southern Air Temple, when aang found Gyatso...almost exactly like the show...>almost.. - The Zuko/aang fight at NWT....very funny, but also pretty good close martial arts in there....noah definitely was in his "element" on this scene -Blue spirit scene...the fighting wasn't too bad in this scene...it was much too choreographed though, you can really tell. but good none-the-less.
