(Or as I like to call it, 3 more reasons why I don't want to see this. ) Zuko and Katara's slow turn-based NWT battle: Ong's waterbending Cirque Du Soleil Ong's boring escape from Zuko (early movie) My bias thoughts aside, what do you guys think?

Yikes, yeah I'm not so sure about M. Night's ability to pull this movie off and not make everyone angry. The special effects look awesome, but the fight scenes seem like they are going to be ridiculous. The fight with Zuko and Katara is way too slow and there doesn't seem to be any action going on (but they are fighting) and with Aang, if you don't do something tastefully in slow mo it just comes out looking stupid (point in case). And Aang had no problem at all getting away from Zuko and the Firebenders...and they are the big threat? I'm just....unsure of everything to be honest. But I don't want to throw out harsh judgements before I have seen the completed version....we will see is all I can say for now.

It looks pretty enough...and Dev's got some nice Zuko intensity going on...but, yeah...think I'll be waiting for the DVD (might go BluRay on it)...

The one thing really bugging me about all three clips is the fight scenes are painfully slow. And the firebending doesn't look like it did in the show. Besides that, I wish M. Night had kept the same outfits that were in the series.

Hmm..... while it seems like you guys are harping on it, I actually am pleased with these clips. I never expected to see the same pace in the battles in live action as I did in the show. I was hoping for something like Harry Potter 5 Voldemort vs. Dumbledore, and overall, these clips have that feel. I think you have to take the movies from a different perspective. Frankly, I don't see who the battle between Zuko and Katara in the show (SOTN Pt. 1) wasn't "turn-based" and was faster.
My main problem and concern with the movies was the actors, and the early trailers sure didn't help, but Ong's escape did help show that they have the ability to not sound so stiff.

Well I'll find out how things really go tomorrow night. The battle with Zuko ad Katara did seem slow and what was also weird was that I thought it was said that Zuko had the power to create fire. It didn't seem like he did in that clip but maybe it was because it was nightime, who knows.

It looks like the firebenders have to draw their fire from a source. Why can't they just make their own?
Other than this it looks alright.

Eurgh! Argh! Aghhh...
The acting...so...bad. Sigh. Well, I will still see this movie because I want to see how they convert it for film, but firebending has been totally ruined. And what happened to Aang going into the Avatar State for the first time?
But Noah Ringer is sort of adorable.
