It's somewhat similar to the old one, just with a few new scenes and some Airbenders. Also, be sure to look for the rebellious monk with hair. Click on the image to be transported to the YouTube vid.

Did you see the set for the Northern Water Tribe. Gah! And was that Aang's voice at the end? Sounds like they had him on slow mo. Oh, misfortune!

Did you see the set for the Northern Water Tribe. Gah! Basically the way it was in the series with a little more detail?

Hmm, I was talking about the scene when Sokka, Yue, and Katara (I think) enter into the oasis from some sort of ice...cave. It looks like paper mache. Anyway, I may have to recant my criticism - check out this Japanese trailer. www.youtube.com/watch?v=JDG9IizVNSo&feature=player_embeddedVery nice, although this whole "firebenders drawing from a source" thing really ticks me off. Edit: The best part of this entire trailer is the narration at the very end. XD

Some of these minor changes might be Bryan's ideas.

As in, Bryan Konietzko? Why would the creators of the show change details like the Firebenders needing already existing fire to firebend when, as others have pointed out, they could be easily defeated by a rainstorm. Or switch the neckline folding of Katara's shirt to right-over-left, which is the direction used for corpses, or use Chinese calligraphy look-a-like gibbrish instead of the real thing, or any of the other major or minor details that the show did research and had cultural consultants for, why would they throw all that out for a movie that is supposed to be a live-action adaption of the cartoon. Changing or expanding some things that the show didn't get in to (like, Zuko finding Ursa), or having to minimize some things due to time constraints, I can understand that. But everything that has been seen/leaked about this movie so far? No. M. Night Shyamalan is steering this ship, and I highly doubt Mike and Bryan had any more creative say in it than Ursula K. Le Guin did when Sci Fi/SyFy made their EarthSea mini-series some years back. As far as I can tell, they're in the movie credits in name only. Otherwise, there would be a lot less fail. /sorry, rant over As for the trailers, the Japanese version does look better, but probably because it focuses more on the bending than the overdramatic/too heavy American ones. All of Katara's scenes are so weepy too (especially disappointed at her line when she's defending Aang/fighting Zuko, whut. Is there no Strong Katara?) and if that is Aang's voice at the end..... well, I knew he wouldn't sound like Zach, but, I didn't think he'd sound so far from it either. (aww, but it might be a Paku Romi/Vic Mignogna thing, (or a puberty thing), so I won't be mean.) Edit: Aww, there's an interview with Noah from this year's Kid's Choice Awards and he's so cute and smiley. Without the intro I wouldn't even know that was him, he's such a different person in the trailers. --- Either way, still not seeing the movie, but it was nice to see some Earth Kingdom villagers, and the far-away shots of scenery like the Air temples and North Water Tribe do look nice. It's the close-ups that look bad (to me), maybe because the green-screen looks really obvious or it looks incredibly fake. Aang's glider also looks way too flimsy, doesn't seem like it would be safe to ride on. (or under, as the case may be.) ugh, stop writing so much, self!

*stumbles in, wearing some sort of hat and poncho* Whoa. Where was I all this time? Anyway, I saw some of the commercials last night on the KCA'S and HO-LEE SHIZNET, I want Aang's tattoos so baaad. I'm really excited to see the scenes with Yue . I looove Jackson Rathbone (the only thing good about Twilight is him) so I'm excited to see him as Sokka. Nicola Peltz and Dev Patel look incredible as well. Oh, and, I GOT TO SEE APPA'S FUR AND SADDLE! YAY APPA!

^Ooh, is this what you were talking about? This little TV spot is kinda cool, and the resolution is good enough to see some intriguing details...I think the flying bit looks all right, and interestingly, it seems that Iroh really is generating fire without a source. They're probably gonna make some lame storyline about how only the royal family can do it or whatever. Sigh. Nevertheless, www.youtube.com/watch?v=xRQADBveOMg&NR=1@musogato - That is an adorable interview. Thank goodness his real voice isn't that Alan Rickman/James Earl Jones thing it was in the trailer. XD

The firebending without a source thing might be a level thing. Zuko was a pretty low-level bender (according to the commentaries, anyway) in season one while Iroh was a master. Perhaps we'll see him get better so that by the time the third movie rolls around and he's Aang Sifu he won't need to draw from a source.

This trailer aired with How to Train your Dragon. I was so happy when I heard that bell toll at the beginning and my head whipped to the screen hahaha. I was thinking that it was just going to be the old trailer, so I was absolutely beyond happy to see scenes that I haven't seen before. I am so excited for this movie to come out, even with all the negative slander and crap that it is getting. I LOVE AVATAR! wooot wooot *throws confetti* bring on July I am more then ready for this shindig.

Edit: The best part of this entire trailer is the narration at the very end. XD The japanese tralier totally kicks Equus asinus! Its a good indication of how they should have approached the film in the first place.Even in a foreign language, it gives you a far better idea of what the story is about than american trailer. Dont believe me? Forget that you know anything about the series rewatch both trailers and write down what you got from it without the cop out plot explaining voice overs. Its embarassing! As for the trailers, the Japanese version does look better, but probably because it focuses more on the bending than the overdramatic/too heavy American ones. All of Katara's scenes are so weepy too (especially disappointed at her line when she's defending Aang/fighting Zuko, whut. (aww, but it might be a Paku Romi/Vic Mignogna thing, (or a puberty thing), so I won't be mean.) The whole series was about bending so it should have been the very first thing to be highlighted in the trailer. Theres a reason why the opening sequence for all the tv episodes highlighted bending first before anything else. Everything else is secondary. As for Katara, she did have a reputation for getting over dramatic and weepy at times. Remember Ember island Players.
