Aang was 12 when he knew Gyatso.... not 112.

Aang is 112 in the show but was 12 years old when Gyatso was around. Did you not watch the first episode where he was released by Katara and Sokka from the iceberg he created when he ran away and was drowining with Appa.

Usually I'm with the crowd that "hero's parents and origins are important" but not in this case. We know Aang's origins, he was an Air Nomad, there isn't any great mystery to it say like Naruto's parents or Jon Snow's (readers of A Song of Ice and Fire understand Jonny boy). Aang was born to a culture where it is probably very common and acceptable to ship your children off to the local temple. Plus, Aang's parents might have known that the Avatar has been reborn around the same time as their son, and since there was the possibility that their son was the Avatar, they could have felt that it was better he was raised by monks instead of by them. He belonged to the world, not to them.
Still, I'd be happy if we got some insight on Aang's parents. Even if all we have is a woman bringing Gyasto a baby Aang.

well, if aang's parents are airnomads (most likely) than his mother would have been in the eastern or western air temples and his father might've been in either the north or south
