I thin that's just a movie review with a very brief summary, don't worry about the selfish nonsense. They must have gotten "selfish wandering" from things like the Kyoshi island's koi fish riding.

The chosen locations seem good.
As for the selfish comment, it means absolutely nothing regarding how the movie will be, besides I don't even find it that inaccurate.

Don't trust anything the article says, unless it clearly states that it's from Night, or it's Night's words in quotes.
I've long since realized that the writers of these articles typically know nothing about what they're writing about, usually.

PG-13 barely allows any blood. The Matrix got R, and that had very minimal mature content, so don't worry about a PG-13 movie being too violent. Matrix got rated R for different reasons than violence. A PG13 movie can have quite a bit of blood based on different factors. Dried blood is more acceptable than fresh blood, open visible wound with flowing blood is worse than just flowing blood. But there is so much variability some rated R movies can have less violence than PG13 movies. I just saw the Happening and it doesn't have a lot of blood but has to do more with how and why everything violent happened. (I do realize the Happening was a bad example haha) LotR would have been a better example I guess because its rated PG13.

PG-13 would be excellent. Then we wouldn't have to worry about them censoring any of the romance or humor, plus the fight scenes will be just as intense as in the show.
If they did it PG, they would have to cut out some of the action. And then it wouldn't be as epic, in my opinion.

I hope it's PG 13, but I doubt it'll be since the show is rated Y7. :/ But it would be really good PG13.

Maybe they're considering PG13 because of the story line? Not that it's a bad one, it's just a little complicated at times. Like in The Blue Spirit, I didn't get at first why Zuko saved Aang, but then it came to me. If I'm remembering correctly, I believe there have been R rated movies that didn't have a lot of blood, just a really deep story line that us young-uns might not understand. Maybe they're planning on putting some kind of complicated twist in the movie?

I also think alot of it has to do with language as well as violence. I read in an interview somewhere that Transformers was rated PG-13, for the violence factor, but had the actors dropped the f-bomb it would've gone to R, for both violece and language. The person being interviewed said the language thing was the only thing that kept it at the PG-13 rating, and they wanted more teens and youngsters to see it.

American sensitivites are pretty uptight from what I understand, I once saw an Irish film on in the middle of the day rated pg and they actually swore in about every scentance with all the biguns, I dont know how they got away with it, maybe they said it was just the belfast dialect which would probably be true lol. I dont think there will be any swearing in this at all it would seem so out of place and weird. Plus they usually come down harder on gun violence than hand to hand fantasy combat. I would imagine the fighting will be at a similar level to some of the later Harry Potter films but the romance will have to be left out untill the third one and no cursing because this isnt a school full of teenagers lol although it would be funny if they made Toph say some really mild cursing it might be in her character.

Well if would have to be more than just violence Cronicles of Narnia was rated PG and it had the large scale army battle at the end. I can only imagine things like when Zuko gets his faced torched or when Katara gets burned for blood to be shown and push it to PG13. The other thing is that there could be just intense scenes with no violence or blood but simply saddening. The Day After Tomorrow had a bit of that with people being swept away with water. Maybe we will see the Airbenders get massacred or terrible conditions in a fire nation prison.

Hello. Around the beginning of July, I would have nothing to do with Avatar. I just thought it was just another dumb cartoon... NOW I AM OBSESSED! In about three weeks I have seen every episode of Avatar and several more than once. Now it is all I think about. I even thought about writing a screenplay. So I searched on IMDB to see if anyone else already has, and LO! M. Night Shyamalan is working on it. Now I am obsessed with the up and coming Avatar movie.
My entire life I have been an actor, and have just started film school. I also have been involved with Chinese martial arts for a few years and made it onto the United States traditional Wushu team...
I MUST BE INVOLVED WITH THIS MOVIE SOMEHOW!!! How can this be done?

I MUST BE INVOLVED WITH THIS MOVIE SOMEHOW!!! How can this be done? well, its very hard to do, but your best shot would be to somehow contact the company making the avatar movie. is it paramount? and even then, studios rarely just take people who want to be in the movie. If they are looking for extras, you may have a chance but dont get your hopes up.

If you're going to be an actor, you need an agent and you need to be a part of the Screen Actors Guild. Every major Hollywood movie uses SAG members for their speaking roles and The Last Airbender will be no exception. If you want to be an extra, keep your eyes peeled in the classified sections of Variety and The Hollywood Reporter for cattle calls. Having Wushu experience will probably be a plus, but there may be a whole slew of stuntpeople that they have already lined up.
If you want to be a part of the crew, the easiest way is to be a Production Assistant. As a former PA myself, I can say that it is hard work and you will never ever recieve thanks for what you do, which can range from transporting talent to making coffee runs to finding replacement batteries for light meters. Variety and the Reporter often lists what films are in production and how to contact their production office. You would then have to call Nickelodeon Films and say that you want to be a PA for The Last Airbender. Considering you're in film school, use that to your advantage and ask that you work for school credit and picture credit. If there's a way for a film to save money, producers will often take it. If Nickelodeon Films doesn't have an office, Paramount Pictures will suffice since they are both owned and operated by Viacom.
It will be very, very, very hard work to break into the business without any prior experience. I'm trying to start a career as an editor and I can tell you right now that everyone has to pay their dues and work their way up. You may make it in on the first try, you may not. In any case, I wish you the best of luck and I hope things go well.
