Hey guys! This is a quick reminder for the main rules of the forum. Please refresh yourself with them, as it will help keep this place safe, clean, and fun for everyone.
(( You can find the full list of rules here. ))
1) Respect fellow members and their opinions
Engaging in flame wars, name calling, etc. does not lend itself to foster a friendly atmosphere.
On the other hand, don’t take everything personally. This is the internet, what do you care what a complete stranger thinks of you!
This also includes no senseless character bashing. If you have a problem with someone or something, explain why. Simply saying 'This person sucks' and anything egging on a flame war will not be tolerated.
2) Keep it PG
Considering that our show is aimed at young children (not to mention the general PG-13 rule for ProBoards), keep all content appropriate for the younger audience.
That includes:
No swearing (circumventing the swear filter is a no-no).
No lewd content in word or image.
No taunting of illegal activities. (this includes downloads)
and keep links Mom/Work Safe.
3) Don't Spam
This includes pointless ramblings and unnecessary double posting. Messages like 'what he said' or just a smiley face clutter up the forum, and doesn't help further the discussion.
4) Try to stay on topic
While we realize conversations take different turns and tangents, try to keep posts as relevant to the original post as possible. If things are getting too off-topic, just create a new topic and continue it there.
5) No trolling, and don't feed them either
Creating posts or threads to illicit angry or otherwise highly emotional responses won’t be tolerated. Also feeding such trolls is equally frowned upon and will incur consequences.
6) No "vanity" threads
Meaning, don't make a thread when one already exists for that exact topic. If you want to start a thread for something, make sure you're bringing something new to the table.
7) Regarding member modding:
Giving a little friendly advice to follow the rules or where to find something when a member is spamming or lost, is fine. Ordering others around and acting like an honorary mod, however, is not. If a member is causing trouble, it's better to contact one of the staff (or use the Report to Mod feature) than to try handling it yourself. The staff is here for a reason so don't be afraid to speak up if there are any issues.
....That's pretty much it! Thank you for reading this far, and we hope you enjoy your time at Distant Horizon Forums.
