Holy crap, you're right. He does look like the six-fingered man in The Princess Bride. Still, it's an interesting look for Iroh. Definitely is in keeping with the Western Asian look they've got for the Fire Nation in this thing. Can't wait for the trailer, tho.

^ I knew he was reminding me of someone else...
^ I think that not keeping the more plump Iroh we're used to makes him a little less endearing, but as long as he keeps the Iroh-ness he should be okay. He kinda looks like he's already in White Lotus garb, though (at least in this picture of him). I'm actually really impressed with the costumes and Dev!Zuko's scar is fine with me. Still, I'm not swayed to go see the film.

Yeah...I'll wait for the DVD...
I think this is going to be as much like Avatar: The Last Airbender as the original animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (from the '80s) was to the comic that spawned it (which was very dark and very violent for those who don't know). The names will be the same...and I guess the general plot will be there...but that's about it.
It'll probably be an okay movie in its own right...just not the movie the fans hoped for.

I told my that Avatar had an almost all white cast. She said that didn't make any sense, and she didn't even watch the show... So, Paramount, what's your excuse again for casting white actors?
Ohh, and I'm waiting for Iroh to get a haircut, pull out a red lightsaber, and call himself Count Dooku.

Saw this preview for Nina Matsumoto's rendering of The Last Airbender prequel manga: spacecoyote.deviantart.com/art/Zuko-and-Iroh-inked-139721478, and then took another look at the backstage photos of the movie from the EW magazine. I didn't see it before, but movie!Iroh is wearing dreadlocks. They're being held back by something but, yeah, I see those are dreadlocks now. Nina Matsumoto's artist's comments confirm it, too. You guys, we're getting an Iroh with dreads... I have no further words.

Perhaps Iroh was part of the wandering hippies?

A secret tunnel and a secret society?XD I like this idea. I may not be supporting this movie, but darnit, I support this Iroh... at least, as far as character design goes.

I dunno about this Iroh, Iroh is suppose to be a hefty lazy old geezer with wisdom and all I'm feeling from this guy is wisdom. Guess only time will tell.
